PSP memory cards

i started getting sandisk ones myself which are fully magicgate compatible and my local hmv now sells tehm for the psp instead of the official ones

i got a 8gb micro sdhc with duo pro reader and it wont work in mine but is fine in my mates, is this down to hardware revision as we both have the same CFW, when i say it doesnt work i mean its fine with media but with games it throws up a cannot start error but fine on my mates, both phat psp.
