I saw it posted in the Apple section and had written a reply but when I went to post, the thread was closed. So I came here to say that it's an accurate depiction of the rampant fanboyism prevalent in our consumer culture that isn't a problem specific to Apple.
I think William Gibson said it best in the documentary Cyberpunk (a truly awful documentary); "I think we're moving toward a world where all the consumers under a certain age will probably tend to identify more with their consumer status or with the products they consume than they would with any sorted of antiquated notion of nationality".
Doesn't matter what it is.
