You don't need exercise to lose weight, but certain exercise combined with adequate protein intake while dieting is muscle sparing, which is obviously preferable to having your weight loss be a mix of fat and lean/fat-free mass (i.e. you'll look better naked).
Nearly hit 2.5k cals today - this is where my downfall comes! Typically every saturday sees me doing an 8 - 5 shift at work which means I'm usually up at 6.30am and still stubbornly stay up till midnight and later :/
I really, really need to establish a routine to stop this nonsense!
So far on 1500 calories for today and today I came home from work feeling a lot more awake than normal. Dinner and then out to the garage for some weights!
Squats:
2 x 5 @ 20kg
3 x 5 @ 40kg - too much knee pain so I decided to stop
Bench:
2 x 5 @ 20kg
5 x 5 @ 30kg
Nothing massively heavy but it's something at least. Also remembered why I don't like going outside at this time of year - IT'S COLD!
Interrupted by a phonecall at this point so stopped (only had BOR's left to do which I find BORing )
Legs a little sore today but my knees did feel a little better but still getting a random pain on planting my right foot on rare occasion
Diet wise today I'm under 2000 calories although it wasn't incredibly clean with me grabbing a pizza in there Omelette and a chicken stir fry was good though
Total failure gains today what with celebrating my old man's 65th birthday!
Missed breakfast because I got up late, had a sandwich at work. Didn't know there was a pub lunch awaiting though! Finally ended up going out for dinner tonight which involved awesome food which I'll write more about when I'm on a proper PC
