Pub crawls are to be stopped!

I was supposed to be on one right now with mates I haven’t seen since June last year, but the Mrs was ill last night, so I’m stuck with the little ‘un. So indeed, my pub crawl has been most definitely stopped. :(

In fact, seeing as I was supposed to be getting picked up at 1.30, I should be sinking that 1st pint right about now…..

“happy hour” has also been deemed “non-inclusive” and suggested to be replaced with “savour a pint,”

I'm getting old then because when i was a teen, the last thing you did in happy hour was 'savour a pint'.

I'm sure it used to be ' drink as much as humanly possible and make sure you had 4 pints spare on the table when it ends' hour.

I havent been out out drinking for many many years but I do remember the last bell when everyone would flock to the bar and order as much as they could carry then try to drink it all before getting thrown out.

When will this constant obsession with redefining old terms/words/sayings end? Has anyone actually ever been offended by the term pub crawl?

"U.K.’s independent consumer advocacy organization, Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), has urged beer drinkers and event volunteers to forgo “non-inclusive” phrases that may alienate women, reported The Sun."

Are the entire board of CAMRA vegan loving LGBTQ+ers named Karen?
Shsshh you saddle-goose!

Never knew women felt alienated from going to the pub, no wonder I never saw any when I used to drink... Oh hang on

Then again i would have thought 'pub crawl' would have been more inclusive of those who don't have legs as well :D

Wow some people get wound up easily.

Whilst it may seem insignificant on its own, it's the constant drip, drip, drip of changing these things which is where the outrage stems from, especially when there is no genuine need to do it save for organisations to virtue signal for commercial reasons.

Also, it makes great click bait for media sites to tease people to visit their sites where they have a bazillion adverts to get income from just by visiting.

Some moronic fun thief has had too much time off over "the winter holiday period"

It is quite likely that the doughnut-munching pen-pusher (who broke up on The 22nd and doesn't come back until Mon 9th, and gets 44 days annual leave and is out of the office by 16:30) that came up with this idea is in the pub as I type.

Pub Crawls will die anyway when a pint is £10 even in the crappy old angry men joints, so this is clearly just bait.
Yes the sky high pint prices & the smoking ban has killed off many pubs already

Even these days when i go out there normally more people outside the pub then there is in the pub
One thing i notice while out over christmas was there was also non smokers outside with the smokers :cry::cry:

Back in the 80s we had a men's pub crawl and.we would meet up in the nightclub with the womens pub crawl, sometimes we paired up before with random females but the meet up group was like a non pull insurance policy

Can anyone even afford a pub crawl anymore?

King's Lynn used to be awesome as teenager (03-06ish) as all the pubs were in a square so you could go round and round and end up in the night club at the end, go home on the bus which was next door and have change from £30. You would need to be quite rich to go out on a pub crawl these days. Most town centres are dead in the evening now anyway.

Just had a look at the area and the night club has been demolished and half of the pubs are all closed now or turned into something rubbish :(.

Excuse me young man but when I was a lad, mid seventies, a night out at the pub would have totalled around £2. Night clubs were called discotheques. I'll get me coat.

Guessing these prices would be pretty close to what someone would spend on a night out
Not including the price for a single pint

£10 cigs
£8 to get in night club
£20 for cheese & chips & other stuff with it for after nightclub
£20 taxi home
