Yeah i dont see a problem with it and will keep it turned on if it works as intended, its just countries with earthquakes etc will have implemented it a long time ago.
Phones these days have so many notification options you can just set it to silent anyway if the siren is over the top.and that's the answer, leave it on and if it becomes a distraction turn it off.
