Pugs New Cinema Build (Double Garage Conversion)

Looks great - Seems you have given some thought to acoustics. Would love a garage to do exactly the same. Now i'm getting older with more time to chill out this would be right up my street. Looking forward to the finished result!.

Looking good! - are you going to do one of the fibre optic ceilings, or just stick with downlights (can see these on the images).
cheers man. Nope, I was going to, but a lot do that... so, spot lights for now in the ceiling, with ceiling speakers. then once all this is in, I'll build cinema coving so that I can give the impressesion of a sunken ceiling but I can do this later and put lighting in it. So, for now, the celing will be plain as trying to sstick to the 10k budget as possible and trust me mnate, you could spend a friggin fortune on this hahaha..

Cheers once again... yeah it's been a dream this since I moved into this house in 2012... and the missus finally caved in so...

There's going to be some special touches as well that i don't wanna spoil yet until it's closer to completion in November, however, hoping you like them. Right now, this is all more the hard work.... stairs and staging should be done so, there will be a load more pictures later today and this weekend! Glad people are enjoying and hope it gives people some ideas of their own. Sure I'll make some mistakes, but I'll get there hahaha

I can imagine - the AV gear alone will be a very substantial sum!

Well todays work is now complete... the door openings are now complete after some stirling work over the past 3 days. Roll on tomorrow lol... back to the stages and staircase...

Well, today been working on the stairs and nearly finished... so, here's today's updates... two more to go in... christ a little over engineered but theyr'e never ever gonna move lol.

So, basiclaly we built a frame for each step going into solid breezeblocks and then screwed each oner of those sequencially into each other for sheer strength... they simply do not move so, job's a good one.

Last two steps will go in tomorrow, then the side stage and then it's moving onto plasterboard walls... it's coming together now!

How much height do you have in that entrance? Looks like it might cause a few sore heads :p
nahhh the way the stairs will finish in the "hallway/entrance" and the top of the entrance is 82" high so no problems there which is higher than a standard door frame which is usually 78" for the door size. It's deceptive in that picture because the stairs don't come to the floor yet.

That was one area we were originally worried about, however, by making the steps 10" deep and 8" high it comes down really nicely and the final step will be in the hall section so no problem with clearence unless you're 6ft 10" lol... and I don't have that many tall mates lol.

Definitely will be worth having some LED lighting under each step for safe navigation in the dark and of course it'll look good too. Worth cutting a groove in the underside of each one if you are going to do this and have a think about the wiring route.

Also, rather than having each of the step lights coming on or going off at the same time you could have a delay of a second as each light comes on or goes off and give it a Tony Stark vibe.

So, just to cover myself, I'm going to run a HDMI cable from the computer room through to the home cinema room and also run some 5m USB extenders throguh to there with a wall plate. That way, I can run wireless mouse and keyboard (and other things) and control the main PC from the Cinema room which is also cool for any movie files and also GAMING lol... just thought to myself, I can game... so I have a spare wireless keyboard, mouse and my logitec headphones are wireless, plug into a USB hub in the cinema and hey presto Cold War will be played in 4k on the PJ

Speaking from bitter experience, make sure you can fish a new HDMI cable through in the future.

I put my cable in the ceiling, major issues 3 years later when I upgraded to a 4K projector, rather than ripping the ceiling down I ended up building coffers round the room.

You a builder pug?!
Great work and def good idea integrating PC into the setup
I wish I was, I'm more the designer hahaha and I do a bit of handyman stuff, so can do woodwork and things like that but I've left the actual building i.e. that smashing the hole under the house and the raising of the garage doors to experts lol
