Spie mentioned the Banshees earlier and although they were famously part of the Pistols' entourage and had absolutely no idea what they were doing the first time they went on-stage, they quickly changed to become the predecessors of the Gothic movement that followed (poorly) in their footsteps. The difference in the music from Join Hands to Kaleidoscope is incredible.

Indeed, this thread reminded me of Black Grape covering Pretty Vacant on TFI Friday. I can't link to the Youtube video of it because of the language, it isn't hard to find - I remember watching it live, and it went out at something like 6:45pm?

Don't think I've seen Chris Evans ever look so sheepish.
