Any MS software I've ever purchased over here says "Made in Ireland" so it doesn't look right as you say ...

What makes you say it's not genuine? It could have been bought from outside the UK.

Looks OK to me, the key should be inside the packaging under the disc or on one of the cards included inside. MS have those types now that split when you open the disc.

The fact that it is a home burned disk means nothing to its authenticity. If the key is legit then it's fine. You don't think businesses have 5000 copies of a windows disk do you.... however if you checked the key and it was a copy then I wouldn't worry about doing anything about it. Just ignore him and if it comes to it then just threaten him with legal action.

It's not a waste at all - and trust me, I see some proper stupid reports.
It could be a useful intelligence report.
I'm beginning to look forward to when you leave school and enter the real world.
MANY businesses still operate all of their workstations on XP, and also pay for it.
OP: Just send it back. If you don't want to pay for Recorded Delivery, get a Certificate of Postage. These are free.
