Put your heating on yet

Kicked in a couple of times since the start of October. Unless the weather warms up again it'll be on every day from now on I suspect.

Never turned it off, there's this thing called a thermostat.

Actually this, since we have a Tado / Worcester Bosch smart thermostat the house is always at a constant temperature. No need to worry about on or off or time of the year and whether or not it's appropriate; heating costs aren't so bad that we need to shiver until November when it's finally deemed cold enough.

Why would you put up with a colder house for a month before you finally cave in?

We put it on for an hour this evening as the front room was down to 15.

We're having a new front door fitted this week so interested to see if it makes any improvement

Since I like my home at 21 degrees the thermostat has had the heating on for the last few weeks.

This.

If you're happy being at 15 degrees in July because you don't want to put the heating on, they why aren't you happy being at 15 degrees in December?

EDIT: That said the heating has only been on for a few hours a month from April to a couple of weeks ago. Now it's on for a few hours a day.

No i haven't, although, i've been tempted since i got back from Ibiza, gone from 33 to 13 degrees in a few days.

Ours is set up to kick in for ~2 hours in the morning then ~3 in the evening. It's usually only on for a bit but these past 2-3 weeks it's been kicking in a lot more. Reminds me to turn it down - almost a bit too hot in here.

No. We don't spend much time on the ground floor except for the kitchen (which is often heated by cooking), so not much need for it at present. I just close the windows to keep it a bit warmer.

The heating isn't on yet, but I'm getting close to putting it on - I'm thinking that I might be able to last another week or two. I've actually just turned my dehumidifier on today for the next few months, so that will help to take off what chill there is from the air.

First time was 30th Sep as it was freezing that day. Had it on a few times since but only for a hour or so at a time to take chill off.

Did good as heating had been off since May and my last gas bill for last 3 month period was just £14 (Ebico no standing charge)

Love this thread every year... Its almost like caveman chest beating and the last person to put the heating on is more Alpha than everyone else
