MegaTF was to this day, the best multiplayer I've ever experienced. I made my own .cfg files, complete with an on-screen menu for changing disguises as a spy. I was in America then and played on biscuitservers a lot in clan [TSFO]. I wish I could find an experience like that again; the closest I came to it was playing Enemy Territory. Is Quake MegaTF wtill a thing?
Although an excellent new episode, I'm finding the performance quite ropey. Not enough to ruin the experience but the frames are yo-yoing all over the place.
So far 1440p with 3070FE it has been silky smooth - I have seen some reports of performance issues with Windows 10 with it though especially with overlays.
Why didn’t they just do a really good RTX remaster, like Quake II RTX?
Does renaming the exe still improve image quality and lower FPS on AMD, just like the original?
The "quack" scandal was quite big news back then!
I've not heard about this before. Was there much of an IQ difference?
I seem to recall that renaming the executable on Doom 3 was sometimes needed to get mods working when using ATi/AMD hardware.
Looks like I'm old and confused, it might have been Quake3 instead, quite dramatic IQ and performance differences.

Anyone getting frame rate issues? No matter what, windowed, borderless, 120hz, unlimited I get slight stutter now and again even though frame rate on afterburner stayed solid. If I press escape to the menu and back again it's fine again for a minute or so. Really strange as it's really smooth otherwise. Feels like a slight sync, refresh rate issue. Win 10 with a 3080ti.
