Quantum Break PC requirements

I want to buy this game but as G-Sync doesn't work in GoW and it is still 60 fps capped, I shan't bother. Windows Store is poor at the present.

Been discussing this here:

In a nutshell its a DX9 era looking game for the most part with serious technical issues sadly not caused by UWA either but basic porting :(

Modders could have fixed some of these issues already if UWA allowed but the actual game is very dated looking for the developer & such a high profile title its a shocking release no wonder its free to XB1 owners who pre-ordered directly from MS Store only.

Free is about all its worth on PC right now  at least MS give no hassle refunds within a few minutes & call you back within a few seconds of entering your phone number onto their support page.

Wow, not good....

Wow, not good....
No not good at all  its the XB1 version 1:1 playable on PC with the 67GB of data installed on your PC instead of the XB1 but you still need to stream the cutscenes  No wonder the Win 10 version is free if you preordered the XB1 from the MS digital store only!

The 22mb exe is installed on the PC as well I noticed on mine but its protected by Denovu DRM so not looking like anyone other than Remedy can fix the game.

The XB1 technique to combine 4 different low res frames to produce the final image is the biggest problem it makes the game look very blurry & low res on PC. Not sure they can fix it either as the game relies on this for the time altering FX which are the main part of the gameplay no wonder Remedy wanted a PC release its literally 1:1 the same code as XB1 as Win 10 UWA games are the same on Win10/XB1 so require no code changes to help the devs. PC is playable @ 1920x1080 but looks like a blurry Vaseline coated mess from the early 2000s era. Any higher than 1080 seems to break the games frame recombine technique & produce horrible smearing side effects & 4K is simply unplayable the FPS dip into the 10-15FPS region making the game unbearable :(

In this instance its ruined the game & Remedy's PC reputation  This game demonstrates that MS should probably not bother making anymore PC games available unless they are mobile games as the platform is not suitable & ruins the games which chose to release this way. Remedy had no choice as MS funded the game but that means they are now reliant on MS for funding. PC gamers will not be so keen to support them in future after this horrible mess & Remedy have not said a single word about the PC problems since launch so they are not helping matters by promising to fix or pull the game until its fixed.

The video someone created here shows XB1/PC running side by side you can clearly see PC is 1:1 the exact same image despite higher settings & superior hardware so PC release is in effect an XB1 emulator running on Win 10 (probably MS masterplan all along for future Win 10 exclusive games as they know PC gamers will not buy the XB1 console so they are selling the game @ £49.99 instead!).

Wow, looks like we can finally stop saying "will it run Crysis?".

In very excited about this game, but I'll have to wait a few years to play it.

Remedy know how to make a great game!

Bought this yesterday and its a hot mess. To play it @3440x1440 it upscales and stretches the image so it looks like a 360 launch title in 480p which has been smeared with vasoline. Total joke so I phoned M$ after 10 minutes and got a refund. I was willing to put up with the store nonsense as I really wanted to play it and its a remedy game but never again

In this instance its totally unwarranted though. A TX and a 6600k gets sub 30 at times but it looks dreadful. Its an Xbox one emulator running on PC essentially and to make matters worse its a standard cover shooter with a channel 5 B movie sci fi plot
