I've had the live stream on all day. It really hit me today that she's gone, we'll never hear from her again. She was such a constant and overwhelming presence.
Exactly, like when covid started and I thought the world was ending. I didn't realise how much I valued her presence and words, as though everything was actually going to be ok.Reminds me when William said just the other day, she was everyone's grandmother thinking of the relation to every Christmas get together as she gives her speech at 3pm on Christmas day before everyone's families has their dinner after the speech.
I thought Putin would end this world by nukes rather than this Covid.Exactly, like when covid started and I thought the world was ending. I didn't realise how much I valued her presence and words, as though everything was actually going to be ok.
No idea. I'm more a fan of their eternal flame tbh but that doesn't look so familiar in the news reports.Unavoidably, on the local news it’s all about london (london local news ). Classic segment in front of new new new Scotland yard with the weird triangle rotating sign. What on earth is that sign all about?
Or not jumping the queue.Mourner filmed jumping the queue to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth
Footage shot shortly before 7.30pm showed the person duck under the rope in the final holding area before being admitted into Westminster Hall after a marathon wait.www.dailymail.co.uk
Though, the person may have been returning to their place in the queue after being on a 'comfort break' before entering the oldest building in the Palace of Westminster.
That was about 21:50, it explains why they switched to the outside camera, I figured someone had collapsed or similar.Man tackled after rushing at Queen's coffin at Westminster Hall
Officers tackled the man during the incident, which took place around 10pm at Westminster Hall on Friday. The Met say a man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.www.dailymail.co.uk
I was I think 14 when Diana died and it was a massive deal in the media even back then (Sky News started in 1989 so 24 hour news was very much a thing) but in a different way I feel. Due to her age and way she died there was a lot more outpouring of emotion and the whole thing was a bit mawkish looking back. Listen to that tripe version of (the great original song!) Candle In The Wind by Elton John to get a feeling of where the nations psyche was at the time.
Millions of people laid flowers at the royal houses. People were throwing flowers on the hearse from the side of the road on the drive to Althorp. We had a day off school for the funeral then as well.

For someone that's not watched a single second of this.
What are they actually showing the whole day?
Yeah 30 second delay apparently. There was certainly no irregularities on the stream, unlike the other day when the guard collapsed and that was shown for a few seconds before they changed camera.I suspect there’s a delay on the stream for this very reason?
Not surprised, with this many people involved there’s bound to be at least one idiot.
Yup, I was about the same age. And the whole outpouring of emotion by pretty much everyone was strange, wired, and mawkish as you say. It's the reason i took a step back in almost disgust at the whole thing, I just couldn't back then and still can't understand how people can crumble and bawl their eyes out when a celebrity or famous person dies. I can feel empathy but everyone seemed to be losing their grip as if a close family member died back then and i felt i was alone in not giving a ****. At the time I felt sadder when Freddy Murchery died because I was a big fan of Queen growing up.
Sure, but the guards are largely ceremonial. Just like with Buckingham Palace, it's the actual police who are responsible for security. So the guards failed to stop him getting to the coffin?
Are they going to wear the ones each earned in his own right?
