Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

Over the last few days it seems like my Mum has just about lost the ability to swallow; an inevitable and final part of the dementia journey. But struggling to get something to eat into her while simultaneously trying not to cry at the national anthem and that incredible solitary piper, bidding Her Majesty farewell as he used to rouse her into another day of duty is... Well, it's all a bit much if I'm honest! But I'm glad I turned the bass up on the amplifier for this organ music. Powerful stuff.

Mum's funeral won't have pipes. But I have made a recording made up of lots of her laughter which I hope to play. Got to hang onto the good memories.

And the BBC and a published book. Presumably they didn't go to OK magazine for the number.
I just saw the first citation and laughed. The BBC article doesn't provide any source either unfortunately. Diana's funeral being on a Saturday would have boosted numbers no doubt though. 4bn viewers for today's just isn't plausible though even if it wasn't held midweek but being a Monday makes it even more inpluasible. Over 50% of the world's population needs to be viewing this event - North and South America is currently asleep and right across to India are currently still at work. Over 50% of those aren't watching.

But anyway, maybe in time we'll know.
