Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

Don’t understand the purpose of BBC 1 dropping their programmes til 6pm as 6 o’clock news will be a repeat of what happened. Happens each time when something major occurs. Sometimes the BBC presenters have got little to say. Very awkward imo

You'll be pleased to know they have an active complaints department you can spend a few days in :)

So it's probably pointless my watching this. It'll just be a load of guff for several hours. At least till 6pm.
It sounds very unprofessional.

I remember when a major plane crashed. News presenter asked the correspondent for that area “how many people have died”
Correspondent - “It’s too early to tell”
Presenter “how many fatalities?”
Correspondent “We haven’t been given a figure yet”

Rephrasing the question does not give the answer.

Why do a news report when haven’t got much to say?

An announcement to tell us there will be no announcement :p

As important as this?

Security guards stand outside gates of Balmoral Castle

Balmoral Castle has long been one of the Queen's favourite places and she is said to never be happier than when staying there.
Today, outside the gates of Balmoral, there is a sombre atmosphere. Some cars have been seen driving in through its gates in the last hour.

Security guards. And cars.

The public get notified by a notice on the gates of Buckingham palace apparently, is there any footage of the gates ?
No bank holiday for the funeral, it becomes a day of national mourning when businesses are expected to close, it happens on the 10th day after the death, that would currently be Sunday 18th.

I'm a little confused. Are the theories that she's died today and the announcement will be today? Or tomorrow?

I'm not "worried" as I don't know her. But I do wish her the best, as I would any person. It really will be the end of an era when she passes away.

Indeed. I’m not a royalist but I am human - she’s at an age when people really should be allowed to relax and look after themselves.
