I was at a B&B during 9/11. Glad 5 was showing their normal schedule. Can’t remember what was on but better than seeing a plane hitting the towers for the 52nd time in 2 hours
It's one of the reasons the good ones do get paid a fair bit, as they have to be able to remember enough of the trivia to fill in the gaps, and do it without preparation, whilst trying to make it at least marginally entertaining, all whilst they're usually getting various instructions/bits of information in their ear (much of which isn't for the public but to do with the production/changes in camera/new feeds). The presenters probably hate events like this as it's so difficult to fill the time with anything meaningful.

The bit that struck me as interesting is that BBC has cancelled all regular programming until 6pm, but...
I agree! what is the point of a BBC news channelWhy disrupt bbc 1 when people can get their BBC News channel fix by getting their remote out and change channels?
Just have a ticker tape at bottom of screen with the various numbers for each tv service -Freeview, Sky, VM etc.
Prince William isn’t it?
Hopefully the Queen will die naturally unlike her grandfather, George V. Lord Dawson, the king’s doctor ended his life as diary entry was
At about 11 o'clock it was evident that the last stage might endure for many hours, unknown to the Patient but little comporting with that dignity and serenity which he so richly merited and which demanded a brief final scene. Hours of waiting just for the mechanical end when all that is really life has departed only exhausts the onlookers & keeps them so strained that they cannot avail themselves of the solace of thought, communion or prayer. I therefore decided to determine the end and injected (myself) morphia gr.3/4 and shortly afterwards cocaine gr.1 into the distended jugular vein ... In about 1/4 an hour – breathing quieter – appearance more placid – physical struggle gone.
He did this so George died before 11:55pm for his death to be mentioned on The Times and not the lowly Evening Standard.
It should be small, we dont have the cash for anything big.I hope the cost of living crisis doesn't mean we get a watered down coronation for Charlie next year. I want to experience the whole shebang of pomp and ceremony.
I feel it'll be small but because Charlies doesn't want that kind of ceremony anywayIt should be small, we dont have the cash for anything big.
