Quest 2 accessories - recommendations, reviews etc

My Gomrvr halo strap arrived and i must say its night and day above the elite strap for myself.
I couldnt quite find the sweet spot using the elite strap and was always adjusting it. The halo strap just works and i get a better sweet spot and clearer image.
The ease of putting the halo on and off is also much better, not adjusting the rear tensioner everytime, just lift it straight off.

Everyone will be different and what suits one person wont suit another but for the money im well pleased.
I'll keep the elite strap for the time being as a backup but the halo is now my main one along with the Vr cover facial interface

interesting. Might buy one and give it a go. They aren't that expensive either.

Just picked up my VR Cover facial interface from RM this morning. 2 week delivery is reasonable.
First thing that surprised me is how soft the foam is, I guess that's why it's comfortable but it will be interesting to see how it holds up in the long run, whether over time it will keep it's 'spring' or get flatter and flatter.
Yes, it's more comfortable than my gomrvr one that I bought for £12, but is it worth ~3x the price? I'm not so sure.
Now having tried it, I probably would've been happy with just the cheap one, which is a decent step up from the original foam anyway. Also, it doesn't seem to make my face as hot as the VR Cover one.
At £38 it's pretty expensive, but I might as well keep it now that I have it, plus I can swap it around if I share it with anyone (when we can meet other people again!).
I think I prefer the thinner of the two foams as it's closer to the face, but there's not much difference in comfort.

:o How?

€29 + €12 delivery fee came to £37.92.

Did you get free delivery or something?

That's interesting.

I bought the Oasis Limited Edition model, which you could only buy from the Global Store. The price was $29 rather than €29, and shipping was $7 from China rather than €12 from Europe.

I guess part of the reason why it was cheaper was tax; you will have paid VAT, while I most likely didn't.

Ah that's unfair. I checked the global store before buying to make sure I couldn't just buy from there and it said delivery not available. I guess it being limited edition made it an exception.

I got a silicon cover after seeing the delivered prices of the vr covers, good enough but what I really want is a thinner face plate. I've tried using just the silicon cover without a faceplate (halo headstrap) and it really improves the fov.
Anyone seen any?

I bit the bullet on the official Oculus Link cable. Whilst I wasn’t playing PCVR with it tonight, I did use it to charge my headset during a round of Walkabout Golf and it was barely noticeable. Switched from one of the Anker cables which felt like it was pulling the headset off my head and tried a more expensive alternative but it wasn’t much better.

This is night and day. Worth £90... almost certainly not but I’m happy I bought it.

After using is for a while, I really like the VR cover rear pad for the Elite strap. it really does make it more comfortable to wear for long periods, feels more secure without having to tighten the strap too much, and makes it easier to get the headset off. Like all VR cover products though, it's expensive for what it is and postage is extortionate.

Same for me. Is it worth the price? Nope. But, I am still very happy with it.

So, maybe that actually makes it worth the price??

I might buy one, or go for the GOMVR strap. Not finding the Elite one too bad, but, if I can get something more comfortable I would be all for it :)

I’m sure they were listed for £45-50 from the place in the high street I bought my headset from but at the time I had no intention of upgrading practically every part of my PC to play VR, so didn’t see the point.

My PC specs are barrel-scrappingly low. There was no way I was paying the full price for the official one, but I didn't really want a houchin cable dangling down the back of my neck.
