Quest 2 accessories - recommendations, reviews etc

Got a few accessories

Silicon cover from Amazon cost £10 - surprisingly snug and good fit.
Elite Strap - so much better than the standard one. Worth it.
Oculus case - nice material, fits everything including the charger and pretty.

Still can’t play it properly yet until I get prescription lenses. My glasses frames is slightly too big to be comfortable in VR.

You can get a free vr face cover from oculus of you open a ticket and say the foam one aggravates your face .

I used Adlens for my lenses, they arrived in about 7/8 days and couldn’t be happier with them. I spent the previous 6 months wearing glasses. It’s infinitely comfier and easier to get the headset on and off.

did that on Wednesday but still not got the 2nd email yet.

To be honest the free cover doesnt work well with glasses. It fits ok and is more comfortable. However, I found that because it has more cushion you find yourself tightening the straps more and more to keep your ideal position with glasses 'fixed'. It constantly slides or becomes too tight. The OEM cover is more rigid and therefore better. The elite strap is what you want. Any spare glasses that may fit better?

Another thing with glasses. I only found this out a few weeks in  but you can turn the strap joint upwards on the sides. Allows you to comfortable place the headset over your glasses and face, then turn down and over back of head. Comes into use with elite strap as well.

decided to order one of these AMVR things for the original head strap

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08V55VHMX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

if this doesn't improve things its going straight back, I've kept all the others, costing me too much now

Shi, have you got a GOMRVR halo strap? Try the AMVR head pad with that. Seems to lock the sweet spot in, and is still very comfy. ( insert smiley with xmas hat)

Sent from my Oculus Quest 2

yeah i have the GO strap from ali express

thanks for the tip

im going to try it on my MVH Studios strap first

Another benefit of the halo strap and AMVR pad, is that the hinge in the halo allows you to flip up the Q2 enough to glug some vino collapso and then flip it back down, without losing the sweet spot.

Oh, are you going to be watching the NASA launch tomorrow?

gone back to the original strap with the AMVR back support added
but the bottom of the AMVR back strap wasn't doing anything, it was floating, so not where i needed support

so i modified it slightly, and first thoughts are, feels way better

all i did was turn it all upside down :D

no idea how u got it to fit your goWMR strap !
im struggling ! lol

Have the velcro as tight as possible to hold the GOMRVR strap to the loop on the AMVR pad. Have the AMVR strap lugs gripping the edges of the halo strap tension mechanism housing. Use a couple of small cable ties going round the centre stay between the strap lugs locking it too the halo strap... Tis all in the images.
