Quest 3 accessories thread

Glad you are happy with your purchase.

Unfortunately, I am not happy with mine. The Kiwi Design H4 Boost strap is like the Bobo S3 but without any fan or swappable batteries. First impressions haven't been great.

I am comparing the H4, a halo type strap to the BinBok T3, an elite type strap.

The H4 is well built and looks great. It's well balanced, there is a nice feel to it. I was looking forward to trying it on. Once I had it on my head though, that's where it went downhill.

The problem is that it always feels loose on my head. I can tighten everything until it's actually hurting my head, but it still feels loose. When I look down at anything it feels like it's just about to slip off.

Then there is the problem of fitting it on. With the Binbok T3, once you get the top strap dialled in, it's easy to put on and take off. With the Kiwi H4, I have to adjust it every time I put it on so that it sits right.

Not having a swappable battery is a negative too.

Kind of sorry I bought it now. But haven't had much time to test it yet, will try it out more over the next couple of days. At the moment, I am pretty sure I will be returning it.

Do you think the temple foam pad mod might help with the feeling of looseness?

I am not sure. It doesn't feel loose at the sides. Can try something out later though to check.

Played with a bit yesterday and managed to get it fitting better, got the back pad sitting lower on the back of my head. I still don't trust it not to fall off or move when playing an active room scale game though.

The problem now is that it leaves pretty big indentions in my forehead, that take an age to fade away. Will try wearing a headband and see does that solve that issue.

However, it just seems that I am solving issues for a not massive increase in comfort. And not been able to swap the battery, that's annoying me more than I thought it would.

Tried a few different things, headband, side foam etc. and while I got to the state where it's ok to wear. It still feels loose and leaves marks on my forehead.

Returning it.

I have the KKCOBVR something since day one, it is extremely comfortable and well balanced. I do find though that my eyeballs get hot playing for even 20m, wondering if there is a cooler.... whatever the bit that goes around the lenses is called, I can't imagine leather/pleather being better, that would just get sweaty.

Just realised, I could just point a desk fan at my head I guess.

You can get replacement face pads that have built in fans. They can help, to a point.

Theres also the open facial interface, but that depends on what you play, I thought I'd hate it to start with, but bought it, because reasons, and its been my go to as I can still see my surroundings while playing stuff..

Yup, I recently bought that when it was on sale. It is useful for MR type games. Also no longer treading on the cat seems to be a bonus, for both me and the cat.
