Questions - Diesel engine and transmission / gearbox reliability circa 2014-2019 -BMW - Mercedes - Audi ( on small hatchback or coupe models)

In all fairness they have - I should have said 'without my car'.

It's just a 320i doesn't really compare to an M240 so I'm sat here counting the days.
I'd have imagined the BMW G20 is a nicer place to sit in, even if the engine does not provide more smiles per gallon Vs the b58

It's largely the same interior except the dash and screen does look a little nicer, but iDrive 8 has driven me up the wall compared to iD7. The touch screen is incredibly annoying to use when driving, and you have to use it for *everything*. There's no more single heated seat button, for example.

It's also surprisingly uneconomical. I thought to myself I'd just take it easy over the next week or two when I first got it and just enjoy saving a few quid on petrol. Over the last month it's averaged 28.4mpg compared to my usual 25.9, both measured using OBC over the same type of usage. I even stuck it in eco mode for a while to see if I was just unconsciously lead-footing it everywhere and it made next to no difference.

This one would have been ideal if it wasnt for the horrible condition of the seats (which have either blued or are originally blue leather (yuk), and a not so looked after interior/ and a few marks on the outside of the body, and maybe the manual

This is a slightly better looking one, ticks the boxes, although a bit over budget,

Concidering i would be getting rid of my 120d maybe 2-months or 3 months after purchasing a new car, it would re-coup some cost but not by much

The second one looks decent. I see what you mean about the seats, it could just look worse in pictures though, it's sometimes hard to tell. That colour really elevates the car to another level.
