No but a fiesta is better IMO and I have driven both
all my fiesta friends no crashs
corsa friends 3 write offs
1 spun out breaking down hill and hit stopped traffic
1 came off a tame and safe ish roundabout in the dry that I can literally THROW my car around with no trouble
the last hit a hedge or something in some lanes but his was terrible anyway
3 cars in each group
seriously though I have driven a lot of 90s hatchback mobiles and I can't recommend that you don't get a corsa or a ka enough
I would say 106 or Saxo as they are good but tbh they are not great in a crash to say the least
fiesta have three stars they have one

in my opinion you should look at
mk4/5 fiesta petrols
focus mk 1 1.6 petrols
pumas although I dunno how thy are insurane wise in 1.6 and 1.7 guises
clio mk 2 aren't terrible bit I would have the others over them

if you want a bigger car a mondeo is a good shout there's loads of them with now equipment at this price and the insurance is normally cheaper or the sane than the above for a lot more car

What sort of used car prices should i be looking at for those cars Eliot ?

All come under 1600 for one with 80k or less and good condition although focuses may go to about 1800
btw all these are around 1998 -2000

Does anyone know if the Ford Fiesta 1.25 zetec 1999 onwards have alloy wheels fitted as standard ?

Zetec I believe so yes but parkers.co.uk will tell you for sure

but that car while a good looking one condition wise etc is still a little to much I would give 1300 max for it tbh

reason why is mine is exactly the same in configuation trim and engine
I bought it 2 and a half years ago a although my ar is 1 years older at 1998
it had 26k less miles at the time

look at the link I gave you the car is the same as the one you posted but is a mk5 and has half the mileage yet it's 300 pounds cheaper

Aint the Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 1999 -2003 expensive insurance wise for young male drivers because of the alloys ?

No, as they are standard. It's not an additional modification which you need to declare on your insurance.

Nope mine is 1500 first year 1100 the next and is now 800 and I just turned 20

I could insure a zetec s 1.6 now for 1350 a year I think
how old are you?
How long have you been driving?

23, 5 years no claims made

I don't think you actually said what you budget was? With your NCB it really is a waste of time messing about with something a 17 year old would buy. Just get a nice Focus Zetec 1.6, its a much better car than a Fiesta, let alone all the other horrible small cars.

2k to 3k budget
Just looking for something cheap and small as possible basically.

Oh wow we have serious potential now
a fiesta like mine would probly cost you like 390 a year or something silly
I'm thinking focus 1.8 2002
do you want a quick car or are you worried about petrol because you can look at hot hatches now etc 306 gti6 and rallyees come into this price bracket

Why the 1.8? Not all that faster than the 1.6 but with the economy of the 2.0...

I thought the way the engines were was like this
1.6 good engine but not fast
1.8 faster than a 1.6 but not by much
2.0 terrible engine that's only slightly faster than a 1.8 but has horrendous mpg

Nope. 1.6 is quick enough with good mpg, 1.8 is no quicker with worse mpg, 2.0 is reasonably quick with similar mpg to the 1.8.

That's why the 1.6 and 2.0 are generally more expensive than the 1.8, because they are a bit pointless
