cooling to 4°C should be considered an acceptable method of euthanasia since the rapid decrease in temperature from 26°C (or higher) to 4°C induces rapid loss of consciousness and is lethal to these species. Fish euthanized by this method should not come in direct contact with the ice, because this may cause thermal burns and induce pain, but rather the ice should be added to a lowered amount of water for a contact time of 20 minutes.

if its not dead yet (cba goin through 7 pages) put it in a bag in water and it the freezer, it will eventually just fall asleep then kill in the best way you can.

just flush it down the toilet, dont worry he will forget about it within a couple of seconds so there is no way he will remember who did it, so no ned to worry about him coming back and haunting you.
 
I agree with Yrkoon - the freezer method has long been the accepted method of piscine euthanasia. There are alternatives:

This method utilises the coldest water you can find - a bowl of water that has been placed in the freezer long enough for the surface to freeze is good. The surface ice is broken and the bowl taken to the dying fish.

The fish is then captured and dropped into the freezing water. The difference between the temperature of the tank and the freezing water causes an instant fatal shock to the fish nervous system stopping all organ functions instantaneously - anyone who has found themselves suddenly in water that is much colder than your body temperature will know the feeling when you initially can't breathe (people have died of heart failure under similar circumstances), it is like that but much more severe and sudden.

A variation on this is freezing alcohol (pure or vodka)

Stress is caused in the handling of the fish, but in most of the methods the fish must be handled - however this handling is brief.

Recommended for: tropical fish

Not recommended for: coldwater fish

Aparently theres a way for fish insta-death something like putting a needle into some vital organ under its gills or something.

Give it a go you might hit it or just stab your fish loads of times... :p

Serious answer --
get a bucket of really really cold water, put loads of ice in to make it really cold. It has to be really cold.
Dump fish into it. It just kind of shuts them down, and it's really quick.
