Can unstable core cause black screens too?
I don't think so, but i guess its possible if there is a lack of voltage supplied to the core/memory.

Can unstable core cause black screens too?
I'm running 1100/1250 with +0mV and got a black screen. Hm...
I'll put my core back to stock and see what it's like.
Can unstable core cause black screens too?
No. Unstable RAM and too much voltage can do it though.
Kaapstad if your alive make a R9 295x2 official thread
You do it. Never a good idea to have a non owner of a gpu making an owners thread.
Yeah I get it when I try putting high volts through it using Trixx. It sucks really as the cooler can handle it.
If you're running 120hz lowering it to 60hz will give you more headroom before you black screen from overvolting.
Yeah I am running 120Hz.
Any idea why that happens?
Even with that my card can't handle the volts It just starts flickering and becomes unstable.
Ah that sucks then, It means I'm limited to about +110mV.
I can't get 1200Mhz at +100mV. Bad overclocker compared to my first card.
Glad my Lightning doesnt black screen until about 165mV, and that lets me do up to 1240/1650 at 120hz
That's pretty good. I haven't tried my memory, I don't think it's very good.
I've seen some reference cards at +200mV. I wonder how that is.
Seems to be the +voltage is as fickle as the silicon lottery imo
