The DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 adapter have been promised by lots of people for a good while now.

CES 2015

At CES 2015 in Las Vegas, VESA featured multiple demonstrations that illustrate the power and flexibility of DisplayPort and related standards. These included

•DP-to-HDMI 2.0 Legacy Adapter – DisplayPort is designed to provide backward compatibility for existing display types. This video adapter converts DisplayPort 1.2
to HDMI 2.0, driving a 4K@60Hz monitor with full 24 bit video.

That was back in February, and I cannot find any info on whether they actually showed one or not.

If they don't get here soon, they wont be needed as the next gen cards will be here with HDMI 2 and USB type C instead of DisplayPort (probably as well as).

as I mentioned in response to him, the difference between the 970 mini and the Nano is that the 970 mini was announced by a couple of AIB's and is priced comparative with a regular 970

on the other hand the Nano was announced by AMD on stage at E3, has had a couple of rounds of press since before being released... AMD did nothing to set expectations on price, just saying that it would be "faster than a 290X"... so people expected it to priced accordingly

AMD wanted all the publicity and hype and that has resulted in a lot more discussion than what happens when one AIB releases a non-reference card

e.g. EVGA have just released a 980ti FTW... it got mentioned in maybe a handful of posts inside the 980ti thread, but as it wasn't announced on stage by nvidia themselves with a load of hoopla and slides saying how great it would be, it hasn't kicked up a load of controversy... the kingpin edition however did generate a fair bit of conversation with their whole ASIC pricing model (which again revolved around how compared to any other 980ti their pricing was bonkers)

That's because it's a niche product and 99 times out of a hundred you can fit a bigger faster card in your build. Same goes for the Nano, The only time it's a winner is that 1 time when nothing else would fit and the Nano has now taken the crown from the 970 mini.
The 970 mini has now been replaced as the go to itx card unless you must have Nvidia but it's such a small segment of the market place that every other time when you can fit a bigger card than the Nano you will choose something else.
