Race Driver: Grid

CPU and RAM usage during Le Mans Race. Loads of stuttering (even at 50fps), caused me to crash (not the PC)!

GPU temps not very high. Not as high as in Crysis anyways.

!

VidMemWatchV3 doesn't seem to work.

Works for me, its just a bit fiddly to figure out. Rivatuner also can track memory usage I think

Theres no reason for a driving game to max out a conroe on both cores, does it do the same on multiplayer?

My 8800GTS hits 97c in GRID! It does seem to work things very hard!

Last card I had that ran that high had a fist full of dust in the hsf

probably me having screwed around with the settings but how are people running this game on their g25s as the steering all seems to come at once, its like turn, nothing, turn some more, nothing, turn even more, oh look here we go, oversteer

i admit atm i am completely useless with a wheel, but something does not feel right when its going like that

Damn this forum, someone on another thread said you can get black 360 pads so I just went to /a shop/ and bought a black wireless pad and wireless RX unit (£15) and now I need to sell the wired pad I just bought earlier today LOL!

Looks damn sexy though in black :p

Just played this on multiplayer.
My first race:
I was in the lead and heading down the main straight to the finish. Someone was there waiting and rammed into me, which retired me from the race.

I left that server and decided to try a different one!

Second race:
I was in the lead and heading down the main straight to the finish. Someone was there waiting and rammed into me, which retired me from the race.

Brilliant!

You get that on Forza 2 especially on that stupid giant circle. One guy will sabotage certain cars so his mates can make the podium, they need to just remove stationary cars after 20 secs or so

Powder coat the white one

Right then. I've sorted the stuttering issue. :D I set the graphics in game to really low and it looked awful. This made absolutely no difference, even though i was getting 100fps!

It's a processor affinity problem. I set it to just one core and the stuttering went completely.

Now all I have to do is find a way of starting the game with just one cpu set in the affinity, automatically.

I have a start up command for media center that does the same thing but I'm not smart enough to write one for this game. :( Can anyone help?

I would think it will be patched very soon.

I have gave up on it for now, need Logitech controlers to be actually usable, I read Demo controled even better than full game.

I do have the Steering working gradualy not on or off so analogue is working but its twitchy and car cant stay on the road (same comments all over Codemasters forums).

Also read Demo stuttered less than Full game, cant really comment as I gave up on demo as of my Logitech controler before I found out the Analogue Sticks needed a Calibration reset lol.

I get Stuttering/Pausing even in the Menu's.

I've used the Logitech profiler to reduce the sensitivity of the analogue sticks and it's much better. I find switching off the stability control helps too.

I've also used the Logitech profiler to set the d-pad and buttons to work in the menu so I don't have to use the keyboard.

The affinity problem is the last problem I have. I can't believe that they've buggered up the final game like this.

Thanks, never normally use the Profiler, tried what you have done and made little difference.

Its definitely an issue with "Full" Analogue control to the sticks in the game so a Codemasters issue (same as D1RT), ideally they want you to use a 360 pad.

For now I will not play anymore, I cant even complete a race nevermind not come last lol.

If only they could code the controls like Sega in Rally Revo. ;)

Time for a rest, just finished my 9th Season and got my 10th and final license... good game. :)

I hate the 24hr Le-Mans with a passion... as soon as it goes dark i crash.

Now onto the big money cars and events. :D

Try these settings with your wheel and it should be much better.

Deadzone - 0%
Steering Sat - 80%
Steering Lin - 0
900 deg - off

Force - on
Force strength - 20%
Force weight - 40%
Effects strength - 20%

Did you set the control for steering with the 'mode' light off? I'm sure you have but if you don't, you just get d-pad movement from the left analogue stick.

Yip, I know the Red Light on swaps the Left Analogue Stick and Digital D-Pad. :)

Im messing no more, its down to Codemasters to fix it as I said before, its all over their forums.
