Also i hate motion blur & turned it off before even playing a race but decided to turn it on later to see what it looks like as every game does it differently & i can say its the first time that i think a game looks & feels better with it on, they did it right.

And as i said earlier the shadow setting is the major FPS killer & i run it on low.

I was running with shadows on low already :) I daresay I could get a good fps by running at a low resolution or by turning everything to low or off, but then it would look awful. In these days of LCD monitors, you have to run at the native res really.

Play online on the BMW race. If you can get through the first corner without a major pile up your doing very well. Had a "Days of Thunder" moment lastnight. Was 11th on the grid, so arrived at the first corner behind a massive pile up, just a huge cloud of smoke and dust, just floored it and drove round the corner, came out in the lead having missed about 5 cars sliding accross the track, was epic! Later stuck a wheel on the grass and nosedived into a barrier meaning I came 5th, but hey :)
 
It reminded me of that old Microsoft game, Rallisport Challenge (i think it was), and that bloke was getting on me ****, was a bit like that bloke from Toca 2 saying his rubbish about Tucker being in the lead, it was always that bloody Tucker wasn't it. :D

Its also a bit slow, like saying to me "you need to find a way past Driver X", when Id past Driver X 2 corners before....

And plowing into a wall and destroiong the front end to within an inch of retirement, driving on with no steering and your front all smashed up, and they come on the radio and say "there a bit of damage to your front wheel, doesnt look to bad", lol
 
Just had 3 round of 7 lap 12 player muscle & ca...finished first every time. the first 2 corners are a nightmare as im at the back after the first win & have to get through the pileups.
It may be a good idea if they had no car to car damage setting but still get damage from track side & debris because there are some real jerks online.

I don't like the console style random lobby.

well this game is superb , it works perfectly with a wireless xbox360 controller and ive finally got the G25 working as sweet... a great demo and a fantastic racer , cant wait for the full game
 
Demo wont start for me. Something about AlcgetintegerV missing in openal32.dll.

Got a new openal32.dll and still wont work very confusing?
 
Had to press OK on about 10 errors when I started the game...worked fine.

Quite a cool game, doesn't feel like they've done much to the dirt engine, which is nice.

Love how it picked up and assigned all the buttons for the wireless 360 controller instantly, and had rumble.

Had a weird camera issue, kept flicking to the side of the car.
 
Was this demo made by monkeys? Everytime i try to open the gameconfig file it crashes explorer. Yet if I cut and paste it to desktop it opens fine.

Also the safe mode doesnt even work lol. Had 0 problem with all my games even assasins creed runs fine. :confused:
 
Glad I wasted the 4hrs to download this. I get about 1 minute of racing and it'll just crash back to the desktop (then of course it forgets my pad config as well). What piece of c*ap software is this?

Runs and looks nice for the minute I'm actually gaming.... sigh!
 
well just played the game and i would say its really good. i did not experience any errors rand smooth on ultra settings with 4 aa rez 1680x1050.

Smoke looks great if you on the gravel u get gravel.
crashes are good to managed to flip few times in air with the bmw.
Great effects when u crash in barriers.

Took me a second go to finish bmw and mustang races first in normal settings.

Did not like the drift race as i dont like drift and i cant drift.

edit: did anyone try multiplayer?

All in all very fun game, enjoyed it allot more on the PC than the PS3 for some reason, runs all maxed @ 1920x1200 4xxAA very smooth, the cars are a little tricky to handle at first but after a few tries I got the hang of it, very nice visuals, love the replay feature, definitely agree with the below comment though,

Looks and runs great but I can't even complete a lap in single or multiplayer without my PC freezing and needing to reboot! :confused:

8800GTX, XP32bit
 
No one else getting the glichy, flickering graphics? random buildings and other scenery from in the background pop up and disappear right in the middle of the track all the time for me :confused: ??

kinda hard to play like this :(
 
Super smooth here all at full at 1920x1200. Only issue is... no sound whatsoever! :(

Seems very nice. Plays ok with my XBOX joypad and wireless steering wheel although why they don't let you to change from the crappy trigger throttle and breaking system on the pad i'll never know! :mad:

Just need to get my driving force pro back from my GF's parents house and i should be even happier.
