Race Driver: Grid

Cheers loadsa - yeah, it was defaulted to the lowest setting for me. I've tried others but with no success.

Apart from the sound of the codemasters video that plays while the demo loads there's nothing. Even the menus are silent.

I did have it freeze during the install though. But only right at the end when it was doing something with directx. Bit odd. TBH i might reinstall just to see if that sorts it.

It mentions in the system requirements somewhere that not all on board sound devices are supported. Pretty sucky.

Do you have Steam running? Ive found having steam open in the system tray kills all sound apart from the CM intro.
 
so in the opinion of those that have it...how does this compare to gt5 prologue? do they feel the same or are they radiacally different beasts?

totally different games and GRID is just a demo, what i will say is having played them both GRID wins hands down, it has better graphics and more exciting races, overall its more fun ... oh and you have to play it on a PC to get the best out of it for sure (can of worms opened no doubt).
 
Does this run ok ( eg on medium-low) on a 6800GS?

Or do I need to rly fix my pc problems asap and get my 8800GTS back in :p?
 
For those running x64 and can't start the game

Saw on CM forums and it works for me, right click the Grid icon then click "Run As..." and then press OK. Very fun so far, shame it doesn't work with my Saitek pad. Most fun I've had in a racing game for a while.
 
wow runs great for me and looks briliant :D
had 2 goes on each track/car
muscle cars are pretty easy tho i managed to hit the wall REALLY hard, interesting thing was that i could rewind and start from before the corner :D
touring cars quite challenging 1st race came 10th and in 2nd i lost lead in last corner :(
I'm rubbish in drift in my 1st go i broke my steering half way thru last lap tho i did score 20k more than in my 2nd go that i managed to finnish, both ~500k behind the other guy :(

looking forward playing it on the wheel tomorow with hang over i'll prolly have

Finally got it installed, think i had something running in the background that it didn't like. However, i'm really naffed off that it doesn't support a PS2 pad! Is unplayable using the keyboard and i don't have a 360 pad because i hate them.

I got a saitek P880 pad, how did you use yours?. I went to custom config and tried replacing left by moving one analog stick but nothing happens. I don't have the drivers installed, but that doesn't stop it working with other games
