Race Driver: Grid

Anyone one else getting some bad shimmering with this game with a x1950pro? Its starting to pee me off. Also it seems AF doesnt seem to work even if you force it to 16x in CCC. I mean it still looks blury the road at a distance. Also why is it that i cant pick fsaa 6x as my card is capable, tho this prob isnt just this game a lot of games only show up to 4x aa setting and not 6x.

I tryed forcing 6x aa but it just breaks the aa in the game so it is useless trying to force it.

Have you tried the game with your new graphics card yet if so let us no what you think.
 
Had an amazing few games last night with ze Germans. Quite a few very close, clean matches with a couple of us getting consitant 1:16 times in the touring cars. It's amazing when you get a match where people know how to play, not enough people will lightly brake to give way to someone clearly in the lead but close enough to cause a crash in a corner when the guy in front cant see what's behind.

The idiots are really getting annoying though, everyone is so desperate to take first off the line that there is always a crash on the very first corner (and quite often before the first sodding corner).

I honestly think anyone driving backwards more than 50 feet should just get instantly kicked. Anyone in one place for more than 10 seconds should get the same treatment. Also, people who routinely cause crashes should get "bad rep" (which would be redeemable with considerate driving).

4xAA here too on a 8800GTS 512. Not sure about AF, I'm going to try to force it next game I have.

EDIT: I lied, 16xAA available. I'm sure last time I checked it was 4.

My best time with the Touring Cars is around 1:17.5 or thereabouts.

Can't seem to get a consistent lap though, best i have managed position-wise online is 3rd.
 
Whats the cheapest you guys have found it for ? So far ive found it for £19.99, good price but i like squeezing ;).
 
well turned on grid again and tried multiplayer again as other days it did not work for me and i got stunned the multiplayer is so good and competitive. well you have few people that do crashes on purpose but you end it up kicking them. but i was impressed.

The game need few minor fixes. it does not crash for me it runs smooth but it multiplayer sometimes well it happened only one time to me, u fly away from a map and ending up crashed.

They should have swapped drifting to dragging and it would be perfect package.
as i found drift quite difficult. and boring

goes on my preorder list :)

i just cant for the life of me 'drift', ive seen videos of players getting millions of pts and x50 multipliers whereas i struggle just getting around the bleedin track !!

but tbh its not a mode i favour as i prefer racing against others on the same track and hopefully if theres a career mode we can opt not to race in drift sessions..
 
Heh, just had the biggest smash on the Muscle car race online, powering down the hill when somebody in front of me lost control, I ended up hitting them full on at 140mph-ish, was a mighty impressive roll they went into :)

Is there no way of saving online replays or have I just not looked hard (or at all even) enough?

Just a bit slower, though havent played too much yet.

I can't wait till we can all play together, it's going to make for one seriously compelling game.
 
Just had a go on multiplayer. Can't get anywhere near the front couple of cars with manual shifting! It really seems pointless using manual on this game unfortunately, costs you so much time! Automatic shouldn't be THAT good
 
what is the ready button in multiplayer ? it says it's up arrow but i push it and it wont ready up
