Race Driver: Grid

Re: the xbox controller, it might just be a case of the default deadzone being set to 0%. The analogue sticks do tend to sit a couple of degree off-centre on occasion, which would cause you to drift slightly sideways.

I first encountered this when I purchased my controller for trackmania. Tracks with those stupid push-forward starts (the one's where you shut your eyes and press forward while your car goes on a miniatue rollercoaster ride before the real track begins) proved to be a real nightmare, as veering slightly off course would be fatal.

However over time I guess I've learnt to automatically correct the stick so that it is dead centre before every race, so now I don't even notice it. I'd advise sticking with it, but if it is really bad then you could try raising the deadzone a little.

Ah is that what the deadzone is for? t is indeed on 0% at default, hopefully raising it won't affect anything other than that!

Looks like there's a config file edit you can make to enable UHQ settings!

Here is my Ultra High Pack. Visible Objects are maxed out, so are shadows and some AA. Just overwrite with your configuration. Start the game choose your resolution, everything should work fine. (BACKUP YOUR OWN FILES)

Here are some pp changes (lighting etc) for the tracks.

config for POS systems on its way

Edit: Performance Pack for the "lower" end systems

Looking forward to going home and trying this!

Is it worth buying now, or waiting for the 1st patch to come out? Do we even know when the patch is due...?

I'd buy it now. Sure, there's a remote chance you might encounter some issues, but it's definately worth it as it's hands down the most fun racer I've played on any platform.

Woot! I have at least 2 world records on the leaderboards.. that I know of. I hope in the future they let you see all your records on one page because it would take forever to trawl through every combination of track and class. And they need to do something about those 0-1 second lap times. Good to see there are no obvious speedhack times though, only glitch times.

Wow. I really don't know how to put this to you in a kinda way. They had the same problem in DiRT, and when they fixed it, they also had to reset ALL the leaderboards

So say goodbye to those 2 world records..somewhen

That sounds kind of drastic 0_o, but oh well. The game's only been out a week so I'm sure I would have been dethroned the old fashioned way too. This game's going to be a big seller, you're gonna have to be extremely lucky to climb to the top of anything. Especially as it uploads everyone's solo time's automatically, and there will be folks who use 4-5 rewinds just to make one lap.

Looks more natural imo without the heavy HDR! more minimal now! will see when I get home though.

Someone tweaked the HDR/Blur settings on the GRID forums. Looks much better. Waiting for him to upload the files though

Impressive but the UHQ moddded files look better on top of that! look at the projector headlights on that Pontiac as an example of the detail!
