Racing Simulators

Got the new cars and Suzuka, it's going to be along night trying to learn how to handle them, then i have to go try the other cars and see how much the tyre model has improved them :D

Acura is great to drive and you need confidence in the corners to get the best out of it. Ford is a nightmare to drive but fun. It does have some weird twitching with the FFB though.

The series with them in is fun but it's scary trying not to get run over by the Acuras all the time.

I haven't driven the Ford GT much but I'm liking the Acura/HPD, it's worth noting though that the NTM has, shall we say, some 'issues', I'm sure they'll sort it out over time but right now it's not worth buying based on the 'revolutionary new tyre model' advertising...

Saying that, I'm both enjoying driving the car (not got the consistency to race just yet, still practicing) and also amused by all the melodramatic whinging on the forums, so it's win-win :p

EDIT: Vid with the two new cars and some Suzuka (and spa I believe), warning flashing images may cause epilepsy :p

I ended up driving the Corvette with my brand new B license which was surprisingly fun to drive. There aren't many Corvette drivers around at the moment though so I spent most of the time overtaking Ford GTs or looking out for Acuras trying to dive bomb me. It's also knackering trying to drive for an hour in this heat!

Yeah, heat is bad, especially as there's literally no breeze, for an unfit sod like me it's torture :p

Did some more HPD earlier, few good runs where I felt comfortable, only 1 or 2 mistake wheer I hadn't done something obviously stupid/misjudged a Ford GT's speed.

It's amusing when you see the lone Corvette, really hard to overtake though as the straight line speed is seriously good, Ford GT's just take patience and you get the fun of going around the outside of people, vette's require a bit more work :p

Looking for some advice on what series to go for to get my B license.

Looks like Star Mazda's or v8's. Looking for a well supported series with plenty of drivers, any thoughts? Been driving the skip since Feb and fancy a change.

I've just stepped up to the Star Mazda with Log1k and two other mates. Practice every Monday on that weeks track.

Not sure if that helps you make a decision. Maybe check the iRacing forums out?

The Star Mazda is by far the most popular of those 2 (from all accounts the v8 races are like ghost towns...)

I never really got on with it though, so I ended up using the skippy to get my SR up and just did the 4 TT's needed to get to B (and same again for A iirc)

Right im coming back to the fold i think, let my sub lapse as my G25 was acting funny, it still is acting funny, but i cant stay away from my racing, so any codes for renewal? by all accounts it looks like ive missed a buy1 get 2 free month one last month :( why dont they have a discount like all the time for existing customers or people coming back ill never know.

Just renewed my sub for 3 months and bought some new content.

Download speeds are an absolute joke, I'm only getting 60kb/sec on my 50Mb/sec connection. I know the servers are in the US, but that's just an unacceptably slow speed for a company charging a high price for a game and content.
