Is it just me or is it plainly obvious that a racial divide exists more and more in this country due to people constantly harping on about how "We're all the same".

We are clearly not all the same. Is a zebra and a horse the same? No. Why? Because they look very different. So do white, black, chinese and indian people.

Sick of these white politically correct warriors who think they're doing the ethnic minority a favour. The ethnic minority KNOW they are different, they DO NOT care, they HAVE dealt with it, why can't you?

OP has a point. A lot of the time it's the white people getting offended on behalf of the black people when the black people couldn't give a stuff.

Why do some black people only get offended by white people using racist terms, yet between themselves it is acceptable.

that is just untrue. Not every black person uses racist terms. I do believe that it is wrong that some people do use it but it is only a minority of people.

What kind of arguments are those.

The problem derives from a miscomprehension on what mulitculturalism is, many people think it is replacing minority cultural aspects in favour of native ones, when in fact it is about accepting those differences and learning to live side by side with them. From both sides.

We have negative discrimination and we have positive discrimination. Both are just as damaging.

It depends, how far do you take the superficial differences as being important? Zebras and horses are indeed different - they're from the same genus but different species. We're all from the same genus and indeed species - we're all homo sapiens (although I've got my doubts about the wise part of that at times) so beyond looking a bit different and living in different parts of the World then what are the essential differences?

How about you give the job to the best person. If you ain't good enough it's not because you are black, lesbian, or whatever. It because you aren't up to scratch. Get over it and get better.

Cultural differences, such as lifestyle, religion, dress and so on.

Problem is in times of austerity and recession people look to blame someone and the easiest target for our ire is the immigrant or social group least like your own.
 
We are all humans and much more similar than we are different.

Of course there are differences though. That is what makes people from different cultures and races so interesting.
 
i dont know if this counts.
i have a very good mate who is black, once i called him coloured.
he just looked at me and said, am i orange?, of course i said no, then he said what colour am i? i said black, then he said if i am black, i am not coloured.
he doesn't like that expression.

also being irish, i get all the paddy jokes.
these don't bother me, unless the context is wrong,
but if someone was to call me a 'mick' now that i class as inflammatory and i will not be happy :mad:

the op has a point, these days the pc brigade are going too far.
we are all different, and to be honest, this is good.
i love going to asian shops to buy types of their food, which is nearly impossible to get elsewhere.
or going to a west indian restaurant and getting some curried goat and rice and peas :)

90% of the black people I know are extremely paranoid people. It's a stupid rant. Raciscm exists. It's a well known fact. It's a rare rare thing to find a black person who is not paranoid. They just don't think we as white people treat them the same. You always see it on the TV, Radio etc, Any kind of racism towards a black person / asian it is heavily punished / criticised. But when someone is racist to a WHITE person it's completely different rules. I don't care if they are a minority.

Racism will always exist until the world is over. Accept it and stop your moaning. We can debate for pages and pages but still will end up with nothing.

Stick your "trolling" comment up your jacksy. Don't start a controversial thread and not expect strong opinions in return.
