At the risk of derailing the thread into pedantry, scoring an own goal would be to do yourself harm, which I don't think AMD have done here. Missing an open goal is to not make use of an opportunity that presented itself to you, i.e. if AMD had the supply they would have been able to take some of Nvidia's market share.

Anyway, all irrelevant in the context of getting a card today.

I do like the "no backorders" line though. Cynical me would say that stores don't like to have a price locked in for future supply when they know they can otherwise sell that future supply at a higher price.
 
Weren’t the rumours that there were only going to be like 200 of these across the UK? At any rate, there doesn’t seem to be much reason for this card existing. It essentially just has more CUs than the 6800XT, so it’s going to be slightly better at 4k and compute and that’s about it... for a 50% markup.
