Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

It's not disappointing. 470 for 1080p. 480 for 1440p. Seems completely adequate for 90% of gamers. The pricing is competitive too. I think they're going to do very well from this.

Everyone's wanting a 1080 competitor, that's not coming for a while yet unfortunately.

I am not disputing that, I think it will do well. What about us the enthusiast that already have 480 or so performance, its a big dent on the movement.

From the size of the die, it looks like the 470 is going to be a cut down polaris 10, while the 460 is polaris 11.

So it looks like it might be more confirmed now that polaris 10 is 36cu for the largest part. But if the performance is there from apparent leaks then it doesn't matter.

Even worse is that the 8gb RX480 has appeared on a few UK retailers for ~£240 so we are being gouged on that as well.

£240 for a 390X performing card....yay...:/

Don't know what to buy now. Maybe nothing.

Best moment to capture ever.

470 left and 460 right.

It looks like the RX470 is Polaris 10 based and the leaked die size is probably correct.

More info would have been nice. Was expecting more than 5 minutes.

That backpack looked like a cool idea though. Things will be awesome in the future using such tech.
