Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

Hopefully the reference clocks as well as the aftermarket ones then and isn't too loud then

I'm thinking the reference one is probably limited, stock at 1266Mhz is should still do 1400 - 1500Mhz but AIB's with better coolers and more power would clock better.

2304 Shaders @ 1266Mhz rumoured Fury-Nano performance makes perfect sense to me, its 'at least' 390X performance but GCN 4 has a lot of enhancements over GCN 1.2

Performance wise i think the reference ones should clock to 980TI - Titan-X.

AIB ones, beyond that.

3 year warranty with Sapphire sounds good to me.

Does anyone know whether a blower vs aftermarket is preferable in a BitFenix Prodigy? I've tried looking around but haven't really found much.

True story - many years back I had to recover a system in sort of an emergency at the weekend and had no spare PSUs to hand - all I could find on the high street were those q-tecs - think it was that exact same model - the system never ran properly again afterwards :|

First PC i ever had went through two of those with both lasting less than 6 months each before the Click/Black screen of death as they went pop.

I've just noticed there's no DVI output on this card. Does that mean I'd need a new monitor?

(I've got one of these at the mo: http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/products/prolite-g2773hs-1/ which I'm pretty sure requires DVI to achieve its 120Hz)

Apologies for the mini thread hijack :)
Apparently the pin outs are on the PCB, there is just no connector on the ref boards. We need to see which boards have one or if it comes with an adaptor :)

a card won't come with an adapter for dual-link DVI, he will need a non reference version. The only adapters for Dual link are active dp to dual link dvi adapters which are around 80 squid.

Will be interesting to see how well the RX 480 will OC on the blower fan. Not sure I want to wait for AIB one's. I do like the look of the reference cards. It is nice that all the heat is dumped outside of the case.

The card will only end up in my partners PC when Vega comes out anyway, where it will go on to live a easy life :D
