Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

I'm thinking the reference one is probably limited, stock at 1266Mhz is should still do 1400 - 1500Mhz but AIB's with better coolers and more power would clock better.

2304 Shaders @ 1266Mhz rumoured Fury-Nano performance makes perfect sense to me, its 'at least' 390X performance but GCN 4 has a lot of enhancements over GCN 1.2

Performance wise i think the reference ones should clock to 980TI - Titan-X.

AIB ones, beyond that.

Do not create false hype, its going to be a great card but no matter what you do to it I am afraid it won't be rivalling a 980Ti or Titan X.

So a bit of a damp squib then? a card that "No matter what you do to it" is not going to be as fast as a 980TI for $300 i'm afraid is not a great card, its not even a good card, its a bit rubbish and expensive, its another 390X for 390X money.
The thing is, for that sort of money its what you would expect or its just more of the same for the same money.

Thanks for the info, at least now we know :D

Crap! never mind, back to looking at used 980TI's.

£300 for another 290/X 970/80, no thanks.

Wait, so people will buy new cards and watercool them, but wont spring the dosh for some adaptive sync monitors ? lol :)

I think a Freesync or G-Sync screen is a must now with gaming, if your water cooling components your obviously an enthusiast, and the monitor is probably the most important thing in a PC as thats the actual thing your looking at to get the enjoyment from.

But thats just me.

Nope is not you. I do not change my Freesync monitor, and if ever decide to buy an NV card, I will buy a Gsync monitor. Ain't going back to non adaptive sync one. They do look horrendous after you play some games with free/g sync.

Nope but I think anyone expecting it to rival 1070 / 980Ti / Titan X is smoking the crack pipe as we put it, of course a pair of them then its a different story. :D

It's pretty obvious really. People expecting, or pretending to expect, a £200-ish card to rival a £400 one are either extremely gullible or laying the seeds to be able to say on launch day that it's a massive disappointment because it doesn't. It was absolutely never on the cards.
