Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" Launched at $199

I had this great idea involving ocuk, and why they shouldn't pay taxes.
It came to me in a vision.

Hmm the price above makes it sound a tiny bit more appealing, for a back plated card too as far as I'm aware.

I think I will hold off my order until the last minute, but I'm not going another weekend with on board graphics though!

So yes in DX12 it is powerful and will improve.

How much of a upgrade (%) will this card be over a hd5770 you think. Was not interested in gaming till MS made Forza available on win 10. Will it handle it at 1080p? Or maybe a rx470 will be good enough? Or is a card from Nvidia better (what card) ? Must also be able to handle Project Cars at decent settings. Anyone?

Well done guys we made it over 300 pages before release :p

If this is really 1fps different to an 390x strix than Im happy. Just hope that translates to dx11 performance to.

I would think you'd be okay. Unless MS screws up the release as they did with GoW, TR and Quantum Break.

It'll be a huge upgrade over a 5770. Something like four times the performance. Forza won't be a problem for it. The Forza 6: Apex Beta that's available on the store runs incredibly well. I can run it completely maxed out with 8x MSAA at 1080p/60fps on a GTX 780. Project Cars is a lot more demanding, but as long as you're willing to drop MSAA (and it has both SMAA and FXAA to choose from as lighter options), you'll be able to max most other things out at 1080p.
