Rainbow Six:Vegas 2

got this game today, great fun to play online and offline. More thinking involved than say COD which has just become a nade fest. But no I have not played Raven shield as many ppl have posted

very true. Although in its defense, the Rainbow Six games have never been outstanding in the graphics department, so its a pretty standard expectation from ubisoft these days

played AC? played Farcry? :P

gonna pick this game up today, quite enjoyed the first vegas, so hoping it at least in a similar vain to the old one :)

Just played a couple of missions of single player and a few online rounds. I was a fan of the first and I feel the second trip to Vegas and wherever is better. Like many have already said, the game feels more of a PC game than a console port. For some wierd and wonderful reason my PC struggles to render door shadows on Vegas 1 (like dropping from 60fps to 20fps) but 2 is a lot more smooth.

From what I've played enemies seem more intelligent, I like being able to equip armour and clothing during missions rather than just guns and although textures are questionable at times, the level layout seems nice. Few more proper firefights, sprinting to link sections together better all make this a neat game.

I think it comes down to this. If you like 1, you're going to like 2. If you like Raven Shield, I'm afraid to inform you that RS has not return backed to its roots. And if you hated Vegas 1, what the hell are you doing here???:D

P.S Vegas 1 never had a PC demo, I dout 2 will either....

I really liked the first Vegas (in fact I love all the R6 & GR games, will the notable exception of Lockdown *shudder*) and will be picking this up.

One question - is the Co-op mode still 4 player, or have they limited it to two?

Can't believe people are trying to play this on a PC using a 360 controller! Talk about masochistic tendencies!

Sadly its only 2 this time (i have no idea why, strange move considering the first allowed 4).

I ordered this yesterday, a little late I guess soo probably wont have it til next week. I was a massive RS player but I hated Vegas 1, hope this one delivers.

Um, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,eeeeeeeeee....never mind....:rolleyes::cool:

This game looks like crap and is very boring. It doesn't have the wow factor that vegas1 did and the graphics quality has gone way down since Vegas1.

how long is this game??? i am playing it atm and just finished mission 4 (i think)
Took me about 15-20hrs but I kept on dying.
Silly AI

Has anyone else noticed that the unlockable weapons don't seem any better than what you can use to start with? I've yet to find a better assault rifle than the SCAR CQC.
Pfft Sig 552 is where it's at.

Just completed this, took around 7hrs total.
Storyline / level design doesn't seem as good as the first game which I played earlier this week.
The achievements are a nice touch, although it seems to me that most of the unlocks are much-of-a-muchness... by and large I used the same guns throughout the game.

Unlike most people I played these two games back-to-back so am in a fairly good position to compare them. Performance/graphics wise they are very similar, although as mentioned the textures tend to be a bit bland in the sequel.

One thing I will say about this engine is that the character faces/animations are top notch; in fact I would go so far as to say that I can't think of a game with better character model graphics.

The 6th mission is a bit annoying as you have to go solo. I think half the fun of this game is the team element, and when you take that away you are left with just another mundane modern day FPS. On the plus side however it did serve to prove that I like that style of gameplay.

do the guns still sound like toys?

they certainly look like toys, that's for sure.

R6V2's only saving grace is the fact that it runs a hell of a lot better than its predecessor. Other than that, it's pretty dull: the gunplay is nothing special, and the level design is again, dull; forgettable.

Can't believe more people are not enjoying this. Sure the graphics are not cutting edge but 80% of a game is it's game play - not how pretty it is.

Whilst I would love to change a few things - no "third person view", and make it more First Blood less Rambo verses the communists, I still think it's worth playing and an improvement on Vegas 1. Great fun playing war with a mate over Team speak.

I think the guns work well. If you were to shoot the late "Big Daddy" in the chest with any of the weapons on R6V2 he would die (or pretend to at least) not wriggle with mild annoyance ala Crysis with their bullet proof pajamas.

Edit - How do you spell pijamas? - looks wrong dammit.....

Point is that the graphics would look dated even a year ago. There's just nothing interesting to look at, which makes the level design look and feel quite bland.

The level where you're running through a load of gardens at the back of houses was something a bit different though, and was quite enjoyable.
