*Bounty* I will be giving whoever finds the solution to this problem a pack of their favorite beer!
Hey Folks,
Wondering if I can get some help, I've got slot 1 & 2 not accepting any ram at all, I just get a DRAM LED error on my motherboard diagnostics and my system doesn't boot. This issue started a few months ago when I replaced the stock cooler on my 3700X with a Lian Li AIO (Gallahad), after I installed the new cooler, the system wouldn't boot until I removed the RAM from slots 1 & 2.
Since then I just lived with the fact that I'll only have 16gb of RAM (that doesn't get to dual-channel...!) until recently where I've taken on some work where I've had to do a few PC upgrades, and I could really do with having the full 32gb RAM working.
So after some research, I thought maybe I've over-tightened the AIO and either damaged the CPU or Motherboard. So I recently upgrade the CPU to a 5800X and slots 1 and 2 was still not working. Then I replaced the Motherboard, and it still has it so slot 1 and 2 don't work. Maybe it's the RAM, but you can put whatever of the 4 sticks I have and they work in slots 3 & 4 just fine.
So when I swap the RAM out and that doesn't fix it... what's next? Aside from try another PSU which is a lot harder to do... I'm entirely stumped. If I can't fix it, I'll have to get 2x16gb sticks and just have those not in dual channel mode, but it seems like such a shame considering the specs of the system.
Here is a list of things I've tried so far
