Ramadan 2017

Genuine question here, hope it doesn't cause any offence,

Just wondering how difficult people actually find fasting, seems to be made out to be a big deal when i would imagine it shouldn't be that difficult unless the weather is very hot and/or you have a very physical job.

For the last 6-7 years since i started my current job i have ended up living a sort of fasting lifestyle to fit around work

I get up, get ready for work and straight in the van, no breakfast or drink, work 8-12 hrs shifts with no lunch 90%+ of the time unless work is very quiet, then i might have lunch on those rare days, get home after 8-12 hrs and have dinner at 8-9pm

so you could say most of the time i eat every 24hrs and don't find this difficult
water wise i cant drink much as no access to toilet facilities in van so most i will have is a sip of water if mouth dry or sometimes nothing if no water in the van that day etc

Sometimes get dry mouth or feel a bit sick from empty stomach etc but if busy don't notice as work keeps you occupied etc

Also now wondering after seeing posts in this thread if i am getting any health benefits from this, always assumed it would be all negative, increase risk of kidney stones etc

Yeah, I use to live like that and did end up with kidney stones. lol

I hope you're not the driver as you sound like an accident waiting to happen.

No it's not healthy, it's crazy. No-one is so busy that they can't eat or drink, surely the fact you feel sick is warning enough.

I can kind-of see why people might do it short term (still don't like the idea of people driving / operating machinery etc while doing it though as they may ignore warnings of dizziness / fatigue so as not to fail their religion) but you sound like you are making excuses not to eat. If you can't change (especially with drinking water), see a doctor.
