Good on you for still participating! I bought a lady from Morocco over to my team the year before last and she really soldiered through on the social side of things.
How much did she cost??

You should really check your posts before hitting reply :p

Probably one of the hardest Ramadan’s for me as it’s gone on. The food hasn’t been an issue, neither has lack of water. My work is rather physical and even that hasn’t been an issue.

It’s mostly been the mental torture of not smoking. Some days are ok and some days when it hits have been very difficult.

Still, soldiering on as they say.

Stick at it bro. The reward will be worth it!

Ngl, it’s probably one of the hardest things I’ve done. Finally admitted that I am/was an addict. Something which has hit hard tbh.

Thanks for the moral support broski.

Take the time to read 'the easy way' by Allen Carr. It's available on pdf. Really really really recommend it. Game changer to understand what's going on. Not a stop smoking book but an awareness of why you smoke book. Resonated massively with everyone I've recommended it to that actually took the advice to prove me wrong (but I've been proved right).

Indeed! Trying to make the most of it, always goes too fast :( The scenes at Al Aqsa make it all the more depressing :(:(

@Vita How goes it?

Lack of sleep. On 1 ciggy a day just early morning before closing the fast. Don’t really think about smoking, some days I do not have one at all.

The lack of sleep is just killing me now lol
That's awesome man keep going!

Yeah sleep is a killer, I'm so lucky here to be working shorter hours so can nap in the afternoon. Without that I'd be pretty mashed up!

Hi, I work with a couple of Muslim lads, and I am wondering when Eid is, one says Wednesday and the other Says Thursday. I want to bring in some food for us to share, since they have to work.

For the vast majority of Muslims it's decided by the phase of the moon as seen above Mecca so it's almost always +/- 1 day. Usually the Grand Mufti in Saudi will announce the ending after he views the moon which then makes it "official" but some Mufti's around the globe can call an end for their local area by upto 3 days (Australian Grand Mufti went 3 days ago so potentially 6 days early etc my mistake, not correct).

That's very kind of you and I'm sure it will go down very well and be greatly appreciated.

By all intents and purposes it looks like it will be Thursday according to reports out here.

As @ianh has said it can vary on locality and the reason there is so much disparity is the agreement that scholars have on the moon sighting. Some believing that the scientific method of moon sighting is enough whilst others believing it needs to be visible with the naked eye!

Haven't Australia declared Thursday too?

Yeap my mistake, headline from 3 days ago said - "First day of Eid officially declared" - and I didn't read the article thoroughly enough to see it actually meant "First day of Eid officially declared for Thur 13th"

Looks like Eid will be Thursday so wishing all the Muslim members a happy Eid.

It’s been tough for me this year, last yr wasn’t too bad but this yr has been tough mentally with the pandemic going on. But managed to get through it, one more fast and it’s onto next year where they will be slightly shorter lol.

Yeah I found this year a bit tough, especially with getting my monthly cycling miles in.

What's everyone having for dinner tonight? Can't decide between a nice takeaway (Dishoom kitchen just opened by us), maybe a local restaurant or I will make Ottolenghi's three rice chicken salad.

Had home made donner meat and chips with a bit of rice. Sounds fairly normal but donner meat doesn't exist out here so we have to get it imported.

Was nice tho!

Eid Mubarak bros!

Eid Mubarak! Just noshed some three rice chicken salad I made.
