Random 3D printing chatter

I just cashed in all my Markerworld credits and bagged an X2D. That's now the 3rd free printer I've had from Bambu (A1 Mini, H2C, and X2D). My Kickstarter X1C is still kicking it (although it's Trigger's broom at this point).
Good to hear. Your Dyson (quite sure it was you) trigger thingybob that I printed a good while back has saved me so much time in my home, and also on my mothers machine at hers!

Awesome. I'm glad you like it. I still use mine too!

Well done, got a link to your makerworld?

I've got a few models which do ok but don't qualify for boosts so feel I'm missing out.

How much of your stuff have you seen on Amazon and AliExpress etc?
See a fair few people in some of the online groups pulling stuff because people are credit farming by reposting their stuff or selling it online..

I haven't looked. Luckily, most of my stuff is pretty niche so is unlikely to be copied.
I went to a car boot sale a few weeks back and there were tons of stalls selling hundreds of those flexi dragons.

Haven't been printing much recently due to the heat but printing today I ran into a situation I thought I'd have to intervene in but, turns out, Bambu Lab had thought of this.

2 rolls of PETG, same make and colour, in my AMS 2 where 1 had minimal filament left on it. Set to auto switch when the almost empty one ran out, but as I was printing something that only need about 18g of filament, there was filament left in the tube going into the print head.#

I thought I'd have to manually pull it out but no, my H2S just purged the filament till the tube/nozzle was empty. I took my printer security, A Kawasaki Teddy Bear, off the top glass and had already removed the top glass in anticipation.

The firmware on Bambu Lab printers are amazing, I have had similar experience switching between Nylon and PLA. The printer knew exactly what temperature to purge the Nylon before loading the PLA. I was sure the transition would cause a blockage, but no it worked perfectly. Its just a shame BL are trying to lock down the 3D printing ecosystem.

I just have a tick box, and it does the same thing on my KS1..
Useful for finishing off those small bits of filament rather than having to load in a spool thats got enough to do the entire job..

I think I’m about to fall into this rabbit hole of a hobby.

Torn between picking up an a1 mini on marketplace for cheap or just go in with the P2S and be set for a while.

I got into Bambu Lab 3D printing in February and bought the P2S. It’s fantastic, but I wish I’d waited for the X2D. As you go deeper into the hobby, you’ll also want an extra o AMS 2 Pro or a AMS HT. If you’re just testing the waters, a cheap A1 mini is a great way to try 3D printing before jumping in too deep, and once you do, the extra £120 for the X2D will feel absolutely worth it.

Dont be afraid to look at the K series of Creality printers too. Loving my K2 Combo.
Definitely, I will check it out!

This was my worry hah, it’s always just a bit more the next one!

But maybe you’re right, kick off with A1 mini and then have my eyes on the x2d as the next step.

New vid if anyone is interested

Very interesting and helpful, thanks! I backed the Revopoint Inspire based on one of your posts a few years back but it has been gathering dust, should really have a bash at actually using it.

Been trying to get back into printing useful stuff but for some reason my printer is letting me down. Gonna spend the weekend trying to figure what's going wrong
