Random people let their toddler walk around my drive

Christ there are some miserable ******** on this forum :D

Honestly OP, you're probably dwelling on this a tad too much - the lad probably has taken a shine to your garden/gravel in the past and wanted to go and see it.

On the face of it, it does seem odd the parents seem to make a detour back to put him down, but being a parent of a 3 year old - it's often 12+ hours of hostage negotiation with them; so they probably did this just for a bit of peace. If they are Polish or whatever, then they probably don't see it as an invasion of privacy or whatnot, certainly when you have no gate or wall in place.... different mindset and all that.

Just forget it - they didn't damage anything I presume, and weren't casing the joint, so just chill, or you'll find yourself curtain twitching and watching your cameras at the slightest noise. Failing that, install some perimeters or a sign saying "stay the **** out my garden" ;)

TIL it's miserable to not want randoms on your property.

3rd musing lol probably better to edit but :P

I do admire that camera set up but you need to rearrange the bins so that you have no dead spot by the actual door... From both angles?? That's so sloppy.. :p

A little odd and not sure what made the dad suddenly run over.

The only criminal activity I can stretch to is they were seeing if your car keys were in range if you have keyless entry/start and the scanner is on the kid.

But I'm the first to admit that's a stretch as you would just come at night and cover your face

How do you find the ES with it not having folding rear seats? That's what puts me off getting one.

Toddler probably ran down the drive and the parents didn't want to go on to get him but were calling him off?

Regardless of intentions, what the **** is wrong with people?

They shouldn't be letting their toddler walk across other people's property without permission, under any circumstances .

Human beings really are the worst.

Or, people could just be decent and respect other people's property?

It isn't hard to stay off what is clearly private land is it?

Lightly different social boundaries for them, whether that's because they're not born here, or different social class.

We moan, but we're just as bad for watching the video.

Least you know your cameras work :)

This thread reminded me of around 8 years ago. For a few consecutive weeks, I returned from work to find my gate open nearly every day and the shed door open on some of the days. Furniture in my garden got moved around and litter left behind. I couldn't prove it because it was before video doorbells but it coincided with Pokemon Go's launch. I suspected people were using the phone app to find digital items as apparently they showed up in all sorts of places e.g. hospital waiting rooms according to the press. The final straw was when some garden tools were nicked. Got given a crime number but not much else the police could do other than the padlock my shed, and as I previously said I couldn't prove to the police that it was Pokemon Go players. It died off after about a month though.

Surely the bigger concern here is that your home CCTV is recording a public space and by posting this video you're the one who's in the wrong.

Kids will kid.

The thing that sprang to my mind about posting that video on the internet is that the car's numberplate might be legible. I can't tell with my eyesight, but if the numberplate is readable, then isn't that confidential i.e. it can be looked up and matched to the user here?

I dunno it seems a bit strange. You could see the dad lifting him up playing on the other side of the road, so it all looked innocent at that point. Why you'd let your kid walk all the way down to the front door though is what seems a bit weird - could understand if he strayed a bit and they went after him.

I'd be more concerned about living next to an Uber driver, those mofos are crazy.

The world we live in. Some people don't see a problem with it so *shrug.
It would annoy me a bit but seems innocent enough. No boundaries with some people.

I find it strange that people can't just make their own judgment without broadcasting every situation to the Internet.

Uploading videos of people without their permission seems as much as an invasion of privacy as a toddler walking on a driveway.

This is the world we live in now I suppose. Next we will have people walking down a street and being branded a sex pest on forums because someone's doorbell saw them scratching their balls when they thought no one was looking.
