The British keyboard layout has been an ISO standard for years and years, and the layout has been followed by typewriters and keyboards for decades.

There is no ISO standard for a UK English keyboard, only a British standard.

Apple (a US company no less) evidently made what you consider is a poor decision. Cope with it!

At-least its not just me. I have to look where the keys are on my mates laptops, its like wtf why are they all there!?

And its not like im used to my MBP, I can type far far far better on my dads iBook thats 4/5 years old which has a different layout.

Horses for courses! :)

It's not exclusively Apple who don't conform, I've used plenty of windows laptops where differences are to be found. Here's a safe assumption. Apple slightly changed the positioning of a couple of keys on their keyboards because either:
- they want to annoy idiots
or
- they thought it would be an improvement

Take your pick based upon which ever makes you most happy.
 
Who cares?

We're talking about symbols keys, not a whole different layout (e.g. Dvorak).

Send Apple a complain about it, if it's a deal breaker. Although I doubt they'll do anything.
 
I actually prefer the positioning of the " on an Apple keyboard. Since it shares the ' button it just makes more logical sense for " to be shift+'

Would the fanboys complain if Apple made it British Dvorak layout? It's obviously the superiour layout.
