RANT ATTACK....BT! :@

You're not going to get put through to the Chairman - certainly not on a Sunday. And if you think about it - not on any other day either.

On the other hand - you can send the CEO an e-mail on email address removed;)

Be nice - you want him to help you. Explain the bare facts, don't exagerate your distress or anything. Ask him to intercede on your behalf before you have to complain to Ofcom on http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/

You shouldn't have to wait more than a week for anything from BT, but try to stay calm and I'm sure it will get resolved.

Thank you very much.

as you said i could get through to him/her, infact i couldnt get through to any one, for 4 hours on the phone!

i will email the CEO, and hopefully something come of it.

RESULT :D

the email worked. he forwarded me to the direction of BT retail, and the director called me on the very sunday, and on monday an engineer was there.

I had a similar problem. Our phone got connected 2 weeks after calling but our Internet wasn't....

First there was a fault on the line and they would send an engineer.
Then the engineer supposedly fixed it.
Then we were told there was never a fault on the line but they'll send an engineer.
Then we were told an engineer was working on it at that moment and it should be working within a few hours.
Then we were told that there was never a fault on the line and an engineer was never sent.
Then we were told that it wasn't their problem. It was BT Wholesale who needed to sort it.
Then we were told that ... etc. etc.,.

Awful awful service. First thing I did once my contract was up was change ISPs.

Hi,

Could you edit out Ben's e-mail from your quote of my post please so he doesn't get spammed to death.

Thanks.

Your powers never fail to astound me.

Not my powers sir, just good things happening to good people. The system is broken, but not because anyone wants it to be broken - the top people want it fixed sharpish, but it takes time to work it's way down to the coalface sometimes.

I know a guy who argued with NTL about their "connection" techniques.

He was building a new house, and enquired about putting in cable, NTL told him that it'd take 2 weeks to send someone out and they'd connect him for a fixed fee blah blah.

His argument was that he couldn't just hold construction and he didn't want a load of trunking going along his brand new house and wall.. NTL refused to budge so he was forced to accept this was how it was going to be and ended up installing a pipe under the patio with some pull ropes.

2 weeks later and the engineer turns up.. he said "oh, you've practically done it?! if you'd called the engineering dept we'd have let you run the cable yourself" LOL

Moral: If you can get away with doing it yourself. Do it.
