rapist threatens rape

call the police again and say that he was following your wife in his car

just keep on reporting things over and over

im 50/50 but it wont be easy for him if he tried.....told my wife dont go anywhere alone.

if it was someone i didnt know then i wouldnt really have taken any notice and just told him to eff off.

but this guy is a convicted rapist so it has to be taken more seriously and also when he was talking about my wife he seem to be getting off on it(not physically).

i dont understand someone who is convicted of rape threaten others with rape ? i would have thought they would be the last words to ever come out of a rapists mouth.

As for pepper/cs/etc spray, its useless until long after the fact. I had my face held in to 3 canisters from 1" away, and was in no real pain until 30 mins afterwards when I started sweating.

Keep a careful note of all times/nature of incidents...
 
Beat the hell out of him or hire some one to do it failing which:-
Gather your evidence and take out an injunction against him approaching you or your wife, if he breaches it is contempt of court and he could in theory be sent down depending on whether the judge is in a bad mood or not.

So just how effective is it in real life? It seems very effective from what I've seen on TV but maybe you have a different experience?
 
We used to have an ex SAS man, who became a bodyguard for a couple of weeks as a precaution. (it was thought, by animal rights people, that the company he was working for were lending money to companies that carry out testing on animals.)
He said that the best self-defence strategy is to run away. It would would not harm your wife if we she went to the gym and did a bit of cardio and endurance work out (with weights).
Advise her to take self defence classes.
Tell her to carry sharp (legal) objects round with her - a sharpened pencil is a good one, because they ******* hurt if you get stabbed with one.
Also a panic alarm, or something that will make a very loud noise.
That was his advice.

My advice would be;
Do not provoke him in any way. He is clearly mental, so threatening him may not have any positive effect at all, also you don't want him to have anything to say about you.

Have panic alarm set up at the property.
Guard dog - well trained though. Realistically there are few people who would challenge a big dog - a large barking dog is extremely intimidating.
I would get the property fitted with a panic alarm too.
CCTV, and motion sensor lights. We have one in our drive way - basically if motion is detected a light comes on.
Seek legal advice.

CS is effective but it also has the downside of affecting those in close proximity.

I have often been involved in violent arrests where I have been as incapacitated as the subject as CS itself is a crystalline solid in a liquid base and it flies all over the place when discharged.

Some people are naturally immune to CS and it doesn't affect them.

Pepper is a better option as it is much more effective to a violent subject and it does not discharge particles into the air like CS as it's chemical makeup is different and it will only affect the subject.

I went down like a bag of ****e when I was CSd during initial training as did the rest of my intake.

She's hardly going to speed up or learn anything to (truly) protect herself in a matter of weeks (or months)?

So just because this is a computer forum you automatically assume that all posters are nerds? Just for you information, I was never bullied at school, had a fair few decent scraps but was never bullied. You see, at school back in the 70s we were allowed to stand our ground and fight back, not like you little pansies these days. :)

The only fly in the ointment is 10 years for administering poison or life imprisonment for murder or attempted murder.

Plenty of worries I would say.
