What are folks doing with their Pi Zeros? I managed to get a couple free with a magazine but they're sitting on my desk doing nothing as I haven't had time to even read the magazine yet!

-.-

This is the reason some genuine pi fans had no stock when they went into the shop!!

I am trying to be happy for you but... no.

You could redeem yourself by selling one of them as there are no stock in the shops! :D

As soon as pi-supply deliver on the 6 months late Pijuice Kickstarter I'm going to build an off-grid weather station and flarm receiver.

Just got myself a touch screen which i wanted to use with a network music player / server (Moode or Rune) as an all in one player but after having a read and seeing all the code you have to use which is way above my pay grade i may just use two Pi2's one with Moode or Rune installed hidden away with it's DAC plugged into my amp and use another Pi2 which boot's straight to the players web address to control which makes things a bit more portable plus where it can be plugged into

Testing with Recalbox to make sure screen worked

Will a 5V 2A adapter that has the adapter and a USB to Mini USB cable be the same as a standard 5V 2A power adapter? My power adapter is sketchy and I'd prefer not to have to pay another fiver for a new adapter :p.

You mean an adaptor with an integrated cable VS a USB port adaptor with a separate USB-microUSB cable? I can't see why not. Is it sketchy as in doesn't work or do you think it isn't supplying enough power to the Pi?

Yeah that's the one. The Pi fell off the shelf while plugged in so the connectr on the PSU got a bit bent and only seems to work half the time and tends to turn off at the slightest nudge.

Oh dear. Sounds like something has pulled loose somewhere. You might need to get a new one then. It's only a fiver at least, you're not talking £25+ for a new Pi 2B or anything.

Right, I've got a Pi running RetroPie and it works fine apart from on N64 games where you get a lot of slow down. Not a problem, I can accept that.

However, I've a USB Atomicplay PS2 lead that allows 2 PS2 controllers to be used via a USB input. I've never had it working on the PC due to driver issues, and Retropie does recognise it, but it won't let me input keys when setting it up. It registered a random key and then struggles to find anything else no matter which PS2 key you press.

Anyone any ideas or suggestions?

I am going to order some retro console USB controllers from Ebay asap but would like to play now if possible.

You could try Recalbox before you buy anymore controllers

Got a RP coming tomorrow and was planning on installing RetroPie but from the comment above I see the mention of Recalbox which I hadn't heard of before. Which one would you guys recommend?

For me Recalbox is easier to use plus the games look better without having to do any tweaking

Brilliant thank you. I may well give Recalbox a go first.

I have an old PS3 Wireless Dualshock controller do you know if this will work using a USB cable? I have a USB Controller on the way and a cheapo Bluetooth adaptor but these are both coming from Japan so will not be here for a week or so.

Thanks

Edit (Answer own question): Just read the FAQs and DS3 controllers are only supported in bluetooth at the moment, working on a fix.

I use a Microsoft game controller dongle so i can use a XBox 360 controller

Recalbox is working great for me, better than RetroPie purely for the fact that you can control Kodi with a controller out of the box. It also works instantly with a Wii U Pro Controller which surprised me with the hoops I had to jump through to get it working on me PC.

I've just got my Pi2 setup as an ADS-B tracker and running Apache2.

Have a POE project on the way for it from a friend as it will be going up a mast about 28FT to get the best ADS-B signal.

Webserver is fine be up there on it as it's a remote item anyway but wandering what else too run on it

Does anyone have the Pi 2 running large video files from a network smoothly? I've got it running 1.5GB files well enough but I've tried a 6GB which looks like it'll require at least 10 minutes of buffering to play without stopping and even then I don't know for how long. Is it my terrible internet causing the problem or is it the limitations of the Pi? I've changed the settings in the Advancedsettings.xml file which is how I've got 1.5GB files running okay.
