Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart RDNA 2 Ray Tracing

I sold a Vega 56 that was two years old and that paid for my Series X, pretty funny really considering the tech in the Xbox compared to the ancient by comparison GPU

Nit picked being the key word here.

You could do this with every game ever released tbh
What matters the most is in motion while sitting back and enjoying the game.
I am very suprised they managed to up the quality of Ray tracing while still adding in more detail.

You should know by now that Grim is the most anti-AMD troll on here. He will always look for the bad just to dump on AMD gpu's. Now if the consoles had Nvidia gpu's the guy would be constantly singing their praises.

I've seen some videos on this game and I have to say it looks way better than anything I've played so far on PC including the raytracing games. It looks like a prerendered film at times and the way new worlds load in almost instantly is incredible; simply astonishing!

No one could say they can't notice the raytracing in this game .

I think we can all feel a bit envious and frustrated when a cheap console can put our PC games and expensive high end systems to shame .

That R&C video really does look great IMO. The details in the models, and the 'artistic direction' are amazing. I'm not sure whether the 'amazing detail in photo-mode' mentioned in the review means the game engine has really good LOD handling code (or perhaps some PS5-specific vertex-shader H/W) or just an excellent photo mode!
Insomniac's Photo Modes are always enhanced, usually for better lighting than during gameplay. Not sure about LoD as well but maybe.

Finally watched part of the video. what a beautiful game, i may need to buy a playstation just for this.

The model/enviromental detail, textures and lighting is excellent.

I can't wait for the art dump on art station, i need a new wallpaper.

Edit: After watching a bit more, your going to need a lot of system RAM to get the world swapping on the rail section to work without direct storage:D

Can't wait. It arrives tomorrow. Between my ps5 and Ryzen 3700x with 6800 I am truly in gaming nirvana.

Also been replaying some top PS4 titles like the last of us part 2. Let's hope my sight and motor controls last me another 44 years.

Been waiting to purchase my first PS5 exclusive and it looks like it’s finally here.

However PS5 titles are still mightily expensive compared to PC games in general.

PC aint got nothing of this quality, even with its £2000+ joke GPUs.

And some people think that consoles can't do more with less, this this video has proved otherwise. Consoles always have less overheads and a specific spec to work with so they can squeeze so much more out of the hardware.

Yup, i'm waiting a couple of months for it to drop a bit. Looks *awesome* though, but I still have Mile Moralis to play through :)

In the present climate you’ll probably be looking at next year for any less than a few quid under RRP unfortunately.

I do begrudge paying £60-70 quid for a game no matter how good it might be.

The surprise here is that they have managed to do it so soon or is it the case of time flying by for the past 1-1.5 years.
