This just popped up on the local social media site, it's nice to see the council have made an effort considering how much we pay them.
Historically, ours was pretty good. In recent years, they have to get to the point of being able to fit a small child inside, before anything gets done (poorly). At least they've filled them in for the next few weeks...
I popped out to the local Screwfix earlier and was practically playing dodge the potholes, as the council marked the worst of them about 2-3 weeks ago but haven't done anything to them.
One is currently large enough you could probably drop a mini tyre in it, as in from the car, and it'd probably just about fill it.. (if you hit it, I suspect you're going to be lucky to get away with just a damaged wheel).
The really annoying thing with these sorts of patches is that they usually only last a few months before you end up with an even bigger hole.
Some of the potholes around here are big enough for my motorbike wheel to drop into and you'd either go over the handle bars or crack your rim. I've reported them a few times but they're still there months later and getting bigger
I'll bet the money spent on that could have produced a better job. Nobody gives a **** any more.Re: "how much we pay them". Most councils have now been through years and years of cuts. Sorry, I mean "efficiency savings". Ours has had to balance the books with cuts in the tens of millions, every year, for years.
Funnily enough, services have suffered across the board. Who'd have thunk it?
Lol yeah I've seen that before might try it, our council was merged with another council so now even more of nothing gets doneTime to get out the spray paint
Manchester man draws penises around potholes so the city will fix them
Apparently a penis is worse than a giant hole in the roadwww.theverge.com
£1k a year is cheaper than a one off £4kI'll bet the money spent on that could have produced a better job. Nobody gives a **** any more.
Apparently the council got these experts to do it:Time to privatise road mantainence, innit. I'm sure the private sector will do a much better job, much more cheaply.
