Get well soon, I enjoy your posts on here :)

thanks guys :)

just had a go in the garden and seems to go pretty well, reverse feels a wee bit stuttery but it is nice and smooth going forwards and there appears to be a spare led socket on the rx/esc for more lights :)

edit: the cogging in reverse seems of gone away :D

What electrics should I get for this? They don't have the kit with electrics so need to buy them separate...any links to modelsport would be appreciated.
The speedo supplied with the pro buggy kit is a 35A Hobbywing speedo, this looks to be the same model:
https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/264...FQASIwHj8gQJcWSr5Um1aNezj9Cj-0LRoCcdUQAvD_BwE

I use this reciever - your choice may depend on if you already have a transmitter:
https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index....uMOQ4G6q-WHwGPgMBj5aVwugltDks_IhoCU0MQAvD_BwE

Any micro servo should work, e.g:
https://www.modelsport.co.uk/savox-sh0262mg-micro-size-digital-servo/rc-car-products/39032
Just look for something that's micro with metal gears (I'm a fan of Savox - but they are a bit more pricey than standard servos).

For battery you probably want a micro 2s hardcase lipo - but you choice here will depend on if the kit you have is the short wheelbase version or the long wheelbase one (can fit bigger battery in long wheelbase version).

Thanks!
I didn't realise there was a longer wheelbase version. Looking at this one https://www.dms-racing.com/index.ph...t_product_id=37426&virtuemart_category_id=470

Looks like a servo is included, but probably pants.

What motor?

Probably worth a go with the stock servo - mines been fine so I'll only swap it out if I have issues (its probably not good enough for racing indoors on high grip carpet - but I doubt any indoor club racing will be on during Lockdown2).

The truck / truggy versions have the longer wheelbase chassis (there's also a buggy LWB conversion kit). That buggy version has a shorter chassis but this cheap NIMH pack would fit: https://www.dms-racing.com/index.ph...id=37892&virtuemart_category_id=15&Itemid=533

Lipo would be better, something like this would be great but you'd need to check dimensions: https://www.dms-racing.com/index.ph...id=31936&virtuemart_category_id=15&Itemid=533

And you might want to pick based on battery connector if you don't fancy soldering new ones on - charger might make a difference to choice too.

Motor in the pro kit is listed as "LC 6150kv brushless motor" - but I would think anything brushless and sensorless would be fine with the speedo linked above as long as its 380 sized. This would probably be alright: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/trackst...325&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products

forgot to post about ions, before i went to hospital dad and i bought ourselves maverick ion's, i got my self the ion xb and i have done some hop ups from a non maverick model which fit, go ebay and china :)

it is a fast wee buggy and dad has the truggy one with the same upgrades, i still have a 6000KV 18 scale brushless system spare from the ions predecessor but im not putting that any where near it :p

edit: himoto spino bits are the parts we fitted to the ion's, we used this guys guide https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums...ck-ion-mt-project-brushless/?&page=8#comments for what parts to get :)

Looking to get my little lad a RC car for Christmas. He's 7 so ideally looking for something robust. He has seen the teenager down the park with the whizzing ones so I would like to get something that does shift a bit.

Any one have any experience in this stuff ?

Budget would be £150 tops but ideally under £100

only problem with the wl toys stuff is the wait for spares from china land if something should break.

earlier on i took out my tamiya lunch box with back and front lights and it was awesome fun, had it near a road doing 180 spins and wheelies on the pavement :)

the night before i had it out for a walk as my cardiologist says to get out a wee bit and have a walk, ended up having some kids shouting i want that lol

gonna have to check my lunchie out, getting a nasty noise from it and it has had tons of use in the wet :)

been taking my triton and lunchbox for walks :p

need more vroom vroom

I have an axial scx10ii raw builders kit coming my way for christmas.

I've got a killerbody lc70 toyota hard body for it. My first scale truck / crawler. Looking forward to the build. Have corally mammoth and moxoos (identical chassis different bodies) 1:10 2WD brushless bashers for the kids. Very traxaas stampede like in spec.
