Wheel type for me. I'd recomment the DumboRC X6 with the X6FG transmitter as a starter option. Dead cheep, great range, built in Gyro and a load of channels to control lights and such if you want to add them at a later date.
I'd be interested....Are TT01's still a thing, I've got a pair that worked fine years ago when they went in the garage, have moved house twice, no 3 times since then but should probably move them on so someone else can get some use out of them.
They are still a reasonably popular car at the club level as a lot of clubs have a TT01 or TT02 spec class - put them on eBay at a reasonable price and they'll go pretty quickAre TT01's still a thing, I've got a pair that worked fine years ago when they went in the garage, have moved house twice, no 3 times since then but should probably move them on so someone else can get some use out of them.
A stock spec TT01 will go for £50 to £60.Whats a reasonable price?
From memory, I have 2 full TT01's both have had a few mods, 2 controllers, 4/5 spare body shells, bag of random bits.
A ready to run TT01 in good condition with basic electrics and a good condition Tamiya body will easily go for £150 for example
FTX Comet might be worth a look, £60ish per car with everything you need other than AA batteries for the transmitters.I'm looking at getting a couple of RC cars for the kids and just wondering what would be recommended. It's only for street/garden so no mega speeds, and I'd like 4wd for the garden. Preferably reasonably durable and not mega expensive (was thinking around 50 quid per car).
Cheers ill have a look.FTX Comet might be worth a look, £60ish per car with everything you need other than AA batteries for the transmitters.
The comet is available as a monster truck, truggy, or buggy - but it's only 2WD.
Spares are easy to get as well

That sounds super fun. I've had a browse into what my local club is like, and they just seem a bit snobby from the fact they appear to require a membership payment to even turn up and spectate... Been too busy with other things to actually see whether I've jumped to the wrong conclusions there! My local club has a TT01 only round with no mods allowed. It's the funniest racing I've ever done. We don't really split them up so can have well over 10 cars at a time. Track limits are mostly optional, rubbing is recommended
I've got an old Hyper7 with an 8 port race engine, really should sell that to somebody who would get some enjoyment from it.
The engine is brutal for its size.
Can't see myself ever firing it up again sadly!
Looking for some advice,
I've got a TT-02B with a BZ motor, 68T Spur and currently a 19t pinion fitted. This has been working ok but noticed a catching/knocking noise on the last run.
Have taken apart the rear diff as that is where the noise sounded like was coming from, everything looks ok (no plastic shavings ect) put back together and re-greased still have the noise. After dismantling most the buggy I thought I'd try the silver can motor it came with and no noise.
The BZ motor seems to be running ok not under powered or anything, anyone any ideas what the noise could be?
Video shows approx 30-40% throttle.

Double checked and doesn't look like it.At a push, are the screws that hold the motor in place touching something inside the BZ motor?
