Me an EL (Paradigm) took several RC cars out over the weekend to make a quick RC Drift vid.

Some interesting cam angles, note the RC drift roof mount cam :D

Features :

Our matching Blue Honda NSX's, Orange is mine Yellow is El's
My Nissan 350Z (TC3, with drift tyres)
My Savage 25SS (Which lasted 2 mins before the radio gear turned off and it hit a wall :(
El's 4wd buggy.

Enjoy :)

Awesome video.

I REALLY want to get my car orderd today but I can't make my bloomin mind up. I was set on an HPI 3 Evo but then I started considering a Thunder Tiger EB4 'Rally Game' then I thought balls to the expense and wanted to go for a Schumacher Fusion

One thing that vid has cleared my mind about is the sort of surface you can run the HPI on, I wasn't sure if it had to be billiard table smooth tarmac but by the looks of the roads you were using it doesn't

It was overcast and starting to rain :p

The surface is a 'generic tarmac road', i have about 7mm ground clearance at the back and 5mm at the front it scrapes sometimes, which is bad mid drift, its hard to get across how well it drifts on a video without a fixed point to drift around, will sort this out for next vid :)

Nice video and those drift cars look like a right laugh! Are your neighbours cool with you all ragging up and down the street? Where ever we take the Savages people tend to moan, but then again they are quite loud :p

What camera did you use to mount on the car? Got a link as I would love to film some of our bashing sesssions at the local quarry with one.

Not got yourself a Failsafe?

Also, just realised we have quite a bit in common.....both got Mazda MX5 1.8iS, both got Savage 25's and both called Mark. Spoooky!

Thats a industrial estate since it was a sunday no-one was about :)

My savage is silly loud i've taken out the plastic restrictor in the purple header / exhaust joiner :)

The savage does have a failsafe but the main battery connector came off meaning no power for the failsafe to work meaning it kept on going, nothing some glue and plastic won't sort out need to make a custom battery box ontop of the radio gear box.

I took a Tripod mounting plate put a little hole in the top of a shell and used that to mount a full sized JVC DV camcorder :D

And the last bit is just spooky, perhaps we are living identical lives :p

You thought about using a throttle return spring?

Yea, the 21 has one has standard but i removed this when i go the truck new since the weedy 4.8v hpi servo was having problems keeping it fully open.

Now i have the K4.6 i aint even thought about fitting one back on, running 6v it should work fine now, good idea :)

Just watching that, i'm wondering. Is the control on the steering (technical term there) quite sensitive?

If you could adjust the sensitivity on the steering, surely it'd be easier to control. i.e a bit adjustment on the controller = small adjustment on the car itself.
